Match report

Montrose ams 5-2 Mearns

Match kicked off at 6:30 on a warm night at fettery. Montrose started the quickest scoring after 20 minutes, they added there second of the game 10 minutes later, to be honest Montrose were far better in the first half and could of been about 5 up

A good team talk between the players at half time and we were spurred on to go make a game of it. Montrose scored there third but we kept going. 3-0

Ball Was was whipped in at pace by Bon which was met by Ryan laird to head home to make it 3-1

This got us going and Ryan played in Oliver for him to slot home 3-2

We then had a goal denied as Aden Thom flew like a Ryanair plane in the sky to head home but the ref thought otherwise and said it never crossed the line.

We then hit the post and had another good few chances but just couldn’t make it count.

Montrose then added 2 more goals to kill the game. 5-2

Overall a good game and really good to see the team kick on and compete with one of the best teams in the league, on another day if decision go our way then we could of got something from the game.

We now have a 2 week break.

On the road this week as we face Mearns AFC for the first time on Sunday.

After a run of disappointing results in recent weeks, the lads will be hoping to claim their first league win of the season.

Johnshaven 6-3 Mearns

Match kicked off and the boys were ready for the tough test

Johnner opened the scoring within 5 minutes scoring a well taken goal

We replied when a ball was floated into the box by Oliver and Ryan met it first time on the volley straight into the top corner.

Johnner then scored 2 before the break going into half time 3-1 down

Johnner came out into the second half flying and scored a further 2 to make it 5-1

We then scored another cracker with the ball being layed on the edge of the box and Lewis meeting it and curling into the far corner. 5-2

Johnner then added another 6-2

We then scored with the last kick of the game with Alex wood beating his man and squaring it to Ryan to add to his goal tally 6-3.

Credit to the lads who kept going to the end.

Shout out to the Johnner centre half pushing the age of 60 still arguing with teenagers saying he’s going to break them in half 😁😂😆

Next game is another tough test home to Mo ams.

Sunny Sunday morning in fettercarin, the boys weren’t raring to go as the Lk gala was the night prior and everyone over the age of 18 being hungover it looked like it could be a long day for mearns when andreous were looking like a prime Barcelona in the warm up.

Match starts and we are 1-0 within 15 minutes thanks to a Kyle Reid flick on being pounced on by Ryan laird and he slotted away neatly

The away team then replied with 1 of their own straight from kickoff.

10 minutes later we were back in front with Kyle Reid putting 1 past there goalkeeper. 2-1

It was then 2-2 5 minutes later as there striker scored.

10 minutes later Wee jack wanted in on the action and scored a cracker on the volley. 3-2

second half and the night before was catching up on us as andreous scored twice to turn things around to make it 4-3

Josh garden had other ideas when he played a nice 1-2 with Ryan and put the ball in the back of the net. 4-4

Minutes left and the ball is punted forward the away team goalie comes out to claim and Ryan beats him to it for Alex Wood to tuck home into an empty net sending the home touch line into limbs. 5-4

Great start to the league campaign 3pts.

We now face a tough test away to johnner on Sunday.
