🌪️ Wind Resistance? The Hub's Got You Covered 🌪️

We've had a few questions lately about wind resistance and what kind of weather you can safely camp in with the Hub. So, here’s a quick rundown based on our own experience.

A couple of years ago, we put the Hub to the test on the Welsh coast, facing winds of 90mph with gusts over 100mph. It wasn’t exactly pleasant, but the Hub held its ground. The only issue? A single guy line came loose because a plastic O-ring snapped. That was it.

Without storm poles, the Hub’s poles would flex under such extreme conditions, but they wouldn’t break.

So, what does this mean for you? The Hub can handle more than you might expect. However, the real question is what kind of weather you want to camp in. We don’t recommend setting up in a storm like that, but if you do find yourself in unexpected rough weather, rest assured that your Hub will weather the storm.

Stay safe out there!

🔥 Heat-Regulating Fabric on the Hubs: Yay or Nay? 🤔

We received an interesting suggestion over the weekend (though I can't seem to locate the original comment) about incorporating heat-regulating fabric with a silver backing into our Hubs. 🏕️

For those who may not know, we did use this fabric on a Beach Hub we sold a couple of seasons ago. I still use mine every time we hit the beach 🏖️, which is quite often now that we've moved to a house practically on the shore! You can see the Beach Hub in the attached picture. 📸

However, we've held off using the heat-regulating fabric on our standard Hubs for a few reasons:

Increased Cost: The fabric would raise the overall price. 💸
Aesthetics: The silver backing can look a bit unsightly from the inside. 👀

Additionally, the primary reason we've opted out of using this fabric is that the Hub is designed to be easily cooled down by simply opening the doors—a setup you'd typically have in warmer weather. 🌞 We felt the benefits of heat-regulating fabric didn't quite justify the extra cost.

But… this idea keeps coming up, and we know there are clear advantages to using heat-regulating fabric. We develop these tents year after year based on your feedback, and we'd love to hear from you. 💬

So, what do you think? Would you like to see heat-regulating fabric on the Hubs? 👍👎

This week's campsite of the week goes to Waterside house in Cumbria!

This family-run site, located on a working farm, enjoys some of the most stunning views the Lakes have to offer. Waterside House is a superb place with a wealth of activities: mountain bikes, paddleboards, and kayaks are all available for hire.

Any plans for next year summer? Why not have a festival on the list.

Lost Village is an immersive festival experience, in an abandoned woodland village. Festival-goers are invited to explore an abandoned world that encompasses dilapidated buildings, old junkyards, hidden gardens and a disused airbase.
