Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums and female role models across our club.

Behind every player on the pitch, there is a massive amount of support off it, and today is about saying a proper thank you to the women who make it happen.

To Our Football Community
It takes a lot of hard work to get our teams out every weekend, and we are incredibly lucky to have you involved.

Parents & Carers: For the early starts, the "mum taxi" trips, and the endless cycles of washing muddy kits. Your support from the sideline means everything.

The Players: To the mums who still pull on the shirt and play. Thanks for leading by example on the pitch.

Team Helpers: To those who look after the admin, keep the water bottles filled, and help out on the sidelines on match days.

Fundraisers & Committee: To the people behind the scenes. Organising the raffles, managing the fixtures, and keeping the club running smoothly.
Cheers to You

Whether you are a coach, a volunteer, or the person cheering loudest on a freezing Sunday morning, we see the effort you put in.

We hope you manage to get a bit of a break today and enjoy the Sunday off.

The Colts travelled to Coatbridge this morning to face Burnbank at St Andrews High (via St Ambrose High...if you know you know 😬🙈).

Burnbank started the brightest and dominated possession in the opening 15 minutes but the Colts eventually settled and began to work their way into the game.

Johnson and Jackson both caused the Burnbank defence problems and were unlucky not to open the scoring with a couple of decent efforts at goal.

Burnbank took the lead on 16 minutes with an excellent counter attack with an equally impressive finish high into the net from 20 yards.

The Colts huffed and puffed throughout the half with plenty of endeavour but unfortunately couldn't find the goal that their play at times deserved.

Adding to a couple of top saves within the half, Noah pulled off an incredible 1v1 save towards the end of the first period to keep us in the game heading into the break.

HT Burnbank 1-0 CFAC

The Colts came flying out of the traps second half as they went on the offensive.

Ryan was chopped down as he won possession outside the box. He dusted himself down from the challenge and curled the resultant freekick into the far corner of the net to draw the game level.

The Colts then appeared to be denied a stonewall penalty when Daniel was brought down from behind as he drove through the Burnbank defence after a powerful run from his own box.

The second goal soon came. A great passing sequence in midfield between Danny and Flynn opened the gap for Archie to exploit. He threaded a forward pass through to Ryan who made no mistake and finished low past the keeper.

Burnbank pegged us back to 2-2 within 30 seconds of the restart. Their no.9 smashed a rocket off the underside of the bar from distance. The ball didn't appear to have crossed the line however the ref maybe had a better view of it and awarded the goal.

The excitement wasn't over there! A minute later the Colts were back in the lead. Johnson battled well for the ball in the far channel, spun the defender and laid on a great pass for Archie who curled a fine left footed effort beyond the reach of the keeper.

Riley made a couple of fine saves to keep our lead intact while Darra, Keir, Ally and Daniel defended like warriors when called upon.

Darra came close to scoring himself with a pop from distance that bounced off the top of the crossbar.

Ryan completed his hattrick around the 50th minute mark with an incredible solo effort. Danny won the ball around half way which allowed Ryan to drive forward. He glided past the opppsotion defence before slamming the ball into the net.

The game was wrapped up 5 minutes later with another ruthless counter attack by the Colts. Ally cleared the danager to Archie, who's 1st time ball sent Ryan through on goal. He held his composure to volley the bouncing ball low into the bottom corner.

Keir was excellent on the right side of defence, starting a lot of promising attacks down that wing with Flynn linking play expertly from the middle of the pitch.

Both teams played nice football in the last 10/15 minutes but there were to be no more goals as the Colts saw out the game for a big 3 points.

MotM awarded by the opposition was Daniel. Well done Daniel. Great defensive headers, solid tackles and also gave us an attacking threat with those powerful forward runs.

Huge well done to all of the boys today. They were outstanding, especially second half.

Thanks to Burnbank for the game. A team who always play good football. Good luck for the rest of your season 🤝

This weekend saw us host league leaders St Patricks at Bothwellhaugh.

With no strikers available through illness and injury, the boys would have their work cut out to take something from an already tough test.

The Colts started well, looking assured on the ball and confident in their shape.
St Patricks were largely limited to shots from distance with Noah making two good saves when called upon.

St Pat's took the lead towards the end of the first half when their striker latched onto a loose pass.
They doubled their lead shortly after when the same striker followed in to convert a rebound after a long range effort struck the bar.

The Colts came close themselves when Ryan got his head to Archie's corner but the effort fell wide.

HT CFAC 0-2 StP

The second period was a good contest with both sides battling for control in the game.
Neither team created too many clear chances of note in the second half with both midfields and defences holding solid despite some tidy passages of play in both directions.

FT: CFAC 0-2 StP

A really solid performance from the Colts today against the top team in the league. Work rate, intensity and togetherness was a joy to watch and both teams managed to play some good football on what was a poor surface.

St Pat's narrowly edged the contest and deserved their win with a few more chances created but on another day we maybe come away with a point from this one. A good game played by two good teams.

Great effort lads!

Good luck to St Pat's for the rest of the season and their push for the title 🤝

This weekend's MotM awarded by the opposition was Archie 🍾.
Well done Archie. Worked your socks off in both directions as always. Asked to play in 3 different positions on the day and always looked to create openings and be positive with the ball.

We played host to Bellshill Athletic this weekend. A team we know well from last season and who always provide a tough test.

The Colts were excellent first half. The tempo of our play and attacking intent was much improved on recent weeks as we decided to go with a 3-4-3 formation and take the game to Bellshill.

The boys created numerous chances and forced a series of corners in the opening half. Archie, Ryan, Logan, Danny and Walker all came agonisingly close to opening the scoring, but the Bellshill keeper was in fine form to keep us out.

The Colts broke the deadlock minutes before the interval as Archie's in-swinging corner was headed home by Ryan.

Given the chances created and with Riley not having any real save to make, we were disappointed not to have a bigger advantage at half time.

Credit to Bellshill, who came out of the traps quickly second half to fire in 3 early goals.

The Colts eventually regained their composure and pushed to find the goals needed to take something from the game.

Despite creating 3 or 4 great openings, we couldn't find the net and Bellshill held on for the 3 points.

Really disappointed not to get anything from the game as the performance deserved a better outcome.
A lesson for us that switching off against good teams for 10 minutes can be costly.

A great effort overall and well done to Bellshill taking the 3 points home with them.

Sack the admin for the late post 😬😅

Not at the races this weekend as we faced an in form Scotland side who are pushing hard to get themselves in the title race.

We were down to the bare bones on Saturday due to an influx of injuries and illness so big well done to those who made it.

The boys competed well first half but found themselves trailing after conceding two soft goals from corners.

Ryan pulled a goal back early in the second half as the Colts had a really positive 15 minute spell of control, however the game was put to bed when Scotland bundled home a rebound after a penalty bounced back off the crossbar.

With no subs to bring on, the boys ran out of steam, heads dropped slightly and Scotland ran out comfortable winners after a flurry of 3 goals in the last 5 minutes.

We won't dwell on this one at all. Circumstance played a huge part in our performance this weekend and the boys will be raring to get back to winning ways.

Well done to Scotland on a thoroughly deserved win and dominating performance.

Huge shout out to our two goalkeepers Riley and Noah.
Noah for stepping in as an outfield player to assist with our injury/illness crisis and Riley for an outstanding display to keep the score down 👏👏
