After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close down Initiate Impact.

This page will soon be coming to an end and we just want to thank everyone who has supported the team, trained with us, raced with us, and been part of the chaos over the years. 💗

Anyway dramatic speech over because we’re literally not going anywhere.

Initiate Impact is evolving and stepping into a new era as BLACKOUT. Same team. Same dogs. Same people. Just a fresh start, fresh branding, and a new chapter ahead.

Curious what all the chaos (and zoomies) is about? This is your sign 👀

We’ve got 4 spaces available for a relaxed flyball intro session:
🕒 3:30–4:15pm
Perfect for dogs (and humans) wanting to dip a toe into flyball without the pressure. We’ll cover the basics like:
✨ Jumps
✨ Turns
✨ Introduction to the sport
💸 £10 per household
➕ Additional dogs: £5 each

🐾 What to bring:
• Your dog (obviously, star of the show)
• High value treats or a favourite toy
• Lead & flat collar/harness
• Water for your pup

Watching flyball at Crufts and missing the sport? So are we... 👀

With Crufts currently on our screens, we know plenty of people will be watching flyball and thinking “I want to try that!” — and honestly, we love seeing the excitement for the sport.

But before we can welcome brand new dogs and handlers, our team needs to rebuild first.

For those who may not know us, Initiate Impact is a flyball team based in Forth, South Lanarkshire. Scotland has a small but incredibly passionate flyball community, with around 12 active teams competing under the UK Flyball League — and only a handful based within the central belt.

After our incredible win at Championships last year, our team sadly went through a difficult period and became much smaller than we ever expected. It would be easy to hang up our tuggies and walk away… but that wouldn’t feel right. Not for us, not for our dogs, and not for the small Scottish flyball family.

So instead, we’re choosing to rebuild.

For those I haven’t met yet, hello! I’m Laurel, the current Team Captain. I stepped into the role late last year after training and competing with Initiate for over two years alongside my 4-year-old fox red Labrador, Rosie.

Right now we’re reaching out to handlers with previous flyball experience who might be looking for a team again. Maybe you’ve stepped away for a while. Maybe you’re between teams. Maybe the love for the sport never really left.

Our aim is to bring together a small but committed group of flyballers to train, compete, and rebuild Initiate Impact into a strong team again — one that can once more make its mark at Scottish competitions and Championships across the UK.

Is it a bold goal to rebuild before Champs this year?
Probably.
But we believe there must be some pawsitively like-minded flyballers out there who’d love to be part of the journey.

Once we’re back on solid ground, we would absolutely love to start welcoming newcomers to the sport and help grow flyball here in Scotland again.

She's only gone and done it! Our spotty favourite absolutely smashed training today and tucked up her sleeve was a brand new PB of 4.88s!(and this was on sand....just saying 🤭)✨️
