*** Michael BOOTH is coming to Scotland this weekend! Don’t miss it!***

Paddle better. Move better. Enjoy it more.

Michael Booth is excited to be running two BOOTH Training clinics at Loch Lomond on 6 June 2026.

These sessions are designed to help paddlers improve the things that make the biggest difference on the water. Better technique, better efficiency, better board control, and a clearer understanding of how to move well and use your energy better.

Whether you are a long distance paddler, someone wanting to improve your general skills, or simply looking to enjoy your paddling more, these clinics are built for you.

This is not just time on the water. It is quality coaching, direct feedback, and practical skills you can apply straight away.

Across both sessions, he’ll share the key lessons he has learned from years of racing and coaching at the highest level to help you become a more efficient, more capable, and more confident paddler.

Careful if you’re out and about in surf at Belhaven over the weekend!
Check out Coast to Coast Surf School for all things surf lessons when in the neck of the woods.

Today we were involved in a rescue with an experienced surfer that got into difficulties at Belhaven. The sea was large 8-10ft surf and they got dragged out in a RIP - right out past the point at winter field golf course. We contacted the coastguard to make them aware and kept eyes on the surfer off the point - signalling to them the best ways to get in through the RIPS. The surfer stayed calm after 45 minutes of paddling finally exited the water via the rocks off the south end and was thankfully safe. We want to thank the Coastguard and the Dunbar RNLI crew who battled big surf to get to the rescue area too. These are amazing people who put their lives on the line to save others!

At the moment we have a strong rip in the middle of Belhaven beach which is joining together with another rip at the south of the beach. In big swell this is particularly strong.

This weekend we have excellent surf and will see a lot of surfers down the coast. If you don't know how to identify a RIP please join our lessons or ask our staff. If you do end up in a RIP, stay calm and on your board, paddle sideways to exit the RIP. If you can't get out of the RIP stay calm and signal the shore you need help.
