Kirkby Lonsdale Cricket Club play throughout the summer at Lunefield Park, Just off Devils Bridge We have 2 Teams playing in the Westmorland Cricket League Divisions 1 and Division 4. We are a warm welcoming club who are always on the look out for new talent previous experience not necessary to the passion to Win. This week, our club received devastating news.

Sadly, Alana Moscrop, one of our 2026 All Stars, has passed away. Alana was the daughter of Andy, one of the lead activators in our All Stars programme and a valued player in our senior side. Andy has asked that we share this post to help celebrate the memory of Alana.

In light of this heartbreaking loss, all cricketing events have been postponed until further notice, as we come together to grieve, support one another, and in time celebrate the life of a wonderful, happy little girl who was only just beginning her cricket journey.

The loss of a child is unimaginable, and our thoughts are with Andy and his family at this incredibly difficult time. As a club, we will always stand beside our members, their families, and everyone connected to our community.

KLCC is a strong and close-knit club, and we will do everything we can to support Andy and his family through this heartbreaking period.

Please continue to send messages of love and support. While the family may not be able to respond, they are being passed on and are deeply appreciated.

Sunday saw the firsts take on Bare, in baking sunshine at Lunefield Park. Looking to back up their victory last week.

Despite Bare’s opener Premasiri (52), we made regular inroads, with Teasdale’s opening spell proving too much, with a nice return catch in there too, finishing 4-30 from his 10 overs. Regular wickets also fell after drinks, with Jakob (2-24), Mossy (3-25) and Alberto rounding the innings off with 1-1 from his 11 balls. Catches for Albert, joined by C&B’s for Dan & Mossy - a good effort in the heat, to keep Bare to just 127 runs.

Set about chasing, Nige does what he does, scoring freely when the ball was there, and rotating when it wasn’t, making 48 including 7 fours, just short of a deserved half century. Bare did make a few breakthrough, Ru (7), Jakob (4), and Albert (14) didn’t quite find their rhythm, however Giles made an important 29* including 4 boundaries, joined at the crease by Duckers (11*) who sealed the innings with back-to-back boundaries.

Another good win for the lads, and we move on to Sunday this week to play Sedgwick away, whilst the seconds travel to Warton.

Ladies result!

Last Thursday we took on Netherfeild at home, in our second league fixture. Once again there were great individual skills on show, as we keep developing further and further. Netherfield proved a little too strong for us in the end, thanks mostly to Burrow’s 26 & 2-5. Regular wickets during our innings, kept the net total just too far away.

A huge amount of positives however, fielding getting stronger, and wickets for, Jess Livock, Harriet Metcalfe, Alexandra Casement, and Lou King - as well as more runs for Lottie Burns.
