Mickster with his young dog Finn. Not been doing much hunting in the pen with the weather being so hot. Finn was a bit steady when he was young but is now really finding his pace. He passes a couple of times tight behind Micky but this is no worry, he'll be out on shoots this year and will soon stay out in front when he realises what its all about. He's smart on the whistle and understands to hunt ''with'' and ''for'' Micky not just rake off on a solo mission. Will try and get some video of him out on the shoot this coming season. πŸ‘

Deb with her 4 year old Vizsla Hunter. He has had a break from retrieving while we worked on his delivery. Training a dog and combination is very rarely ''by the book''. So for Hunter we have delayed working on his ''don't drop'' training until now ( he dropped the dummy for 4 years- now he doesn't)This still needs a slight tweak as there is too much gap between dog and handler, due to some timing issues in training. But the presentation is there now and the gap will go over the next few sessions. Top work πŸ‘

A few from our sunday obedience class. The Springer has done all of our puppy training and this was first time working around others dogs. Socialising in the correct way- learning that even with distraction the handler and months of training are more important than any changes in her surroundings. Also in the class 2 dogs who struggled to be around others dogs and would ''react''. One nervous dog and also a Lab who has been through the same puppy training. The puppy's join the class with very little fuss, as it is just a small stepping stone to add in distraction. Top work folks πŸ‘

Sue with her Lab Holly. Picking from a fairly dense bit in the hedge. Working on getting the dog to enter in the exact spot, ready for picking up in September.

Charlie with his young dog Frank. This was his first introduction to shot( we have been prepping him for this from 8 weeks old, banging and clapping at feed times). This is where we ended. A ark with a replacement to shot, this tells us the dog has joined the dots that- shot = retrive. Then because we know Frank has some beans we soon started to move onto a mark with shot- leave that and pick the memory. It's very easy to get carried away with bang and fetch retrieves and make the dogs ''too hot'', this is where reading the dog is crucial. Top job πŸ‘

Beth and her young Lab bitch Kite. Mark on the water leave that and pick the blind along the water. Its quite a tricky line because the slope of the pool is steep. We have a ''push back'' in the bi***es training and Beth chose to use it here to drive Kite to the retrieve. Scent was good and she ended up right for wind and spun in on the ball. Top work πŸ‘

Charlie aka gorgeous Charlie and his very smart lab Stan. First vid is a replacement from a previous mark. Second vid is a delayed clock face memory and the dog absolutely nails it. We did a big loop round and picked other dummies before sending back. There's a thick block of chicory that the dog has to pass through before entering the crop and multiple tracks to distract the dog off its line. Top work πŸ‘

Well done to Jules and his 15 month old Cocker George. Winning the Dove Valley AV Novice Spaniel test. This was George's first competition- what a start, and testament to the work Jules puts in. Well done Team πŸ‘
