A friendly welcoming club promoting sailing in Tamworth and the Midlands.

Tamworth Sailing Club is a very friendly and welcoming club situated on the banks of a 45 acre lake within the picturesque Kingsbury Water Park. For the competitive dinghy sailor we hold regular weekend races, competing for a variety of club trophies. For the more relaxed sailor we have social sailing just for the fun of it, and we also have a thriving junior’s club. Sailing experience is not necessary as we offer RYA training courses designed to introduce you to sailing in a safe, supportive and enjoyable way. Sailing is something that individuals, couples, or all the family can take part in and we have regular sailors from 7 to 70+.

No sailing today ☹️☹️not enough wind BUT what a turn out for an impromptu work party.. during and after Super Sailors.. and the juniors soon got involved. Sorry I’ve not got pics of you all.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday training for RYA Youth Stages and Adult Level 2 course. Thank you for your enthusiasm and input.. which results in positive volunteering.

Tamworth Sailing Club on a great day out to Portsmouth.
We had a tour of a 68ft Clipper Yacht, the boats adjacent had finished their race within the last 12 hrs. The sailing legend, Sir Robin Knox- Johnston was just taking out Sulhaili!
Some boating silliness followed as we played in the mini mots!
Onto Southsea Common for a delicious picnic prepped by Dean.. and then to watch Sail GP. Our seats were line with the finish lines, definitely worth seeing from the grandstand.

Tamworth SC ‘Try a Boat’ weekend at Plas Menai
Lots of fun on J80 keelboats, Laser2k’s, Cats, Aero, RS100 and Fusions.
We had a day sail to Britannia Bridge, lunchtime mooring at Y Felinheli followed by ‘not a race’ back 🥇🥈🥉😂
Sunday, we tried out a selection of boats to see who went the fastest or capsized !! It’s a wet, fun and social weekend.. try it sometime!!

Congratulations to all who have completed their RYA youth stages courses 1-4, adult L1, L2, L3, Start Racing and Spinnaker courses. Look forward to seeing you all practicing your new skills on the water ⛵️❤️

Busy, busy day Tamworth Sailing Club.
Junior courses Stages1-4, Super Sailors, a full racing day including newer members joining the races and
belated awards from Gala Day .. congratulations to our award winners… and

Neil’s 65th birthday. Thank you Neil Turnbull, from us all for your support, training, maintenance and everything else you!! And only 4 capsizes today !
