Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 1 - Valspar 5.

Harry ⚽️.

A score line that doesn't reflect the efforts the boys put in last night, Valspar went 2 up early in the game but we settled in and had plenty of the ball for the last 15 minutes of the 1st and 2nd half but struggled to create an opening.

A game of few chances but the feeling that if we got 1 we would get more but it wasnt to be and Valspar managed to get a 3rd and 4th before Harry lobbed the keeper from 30 yards out, Valspar put the game to bed with 5th.

Although the boys all came of understanably dissapointed the coaches had nothing but praise for their efforts over 70 minutes.

Referees Player of the Match: Drew & Jax 👏👏👏.

Coaches Player of the Match: Jude & Jenson 👏👏👏.

Well played to Valspar and best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Next up, both teams face their first Scottish Cup action this weekend.

Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 8 - West Kilbride 5.

An absolute crazy game of football, Dean fell behind 1 minute into the game but instantly pulled 1 back to make it 1-1 with only a couple of minutes played. West Kilbride went onto to go 3-1 up after some uncharacteristic play from Dean. We dug deep and didn't panic and slowly turned it round to get in front making it 4-3. Only to concede another sloppy goal with the last kick of the half to make it 4 each at half time.

A strong team talk at half time seemed to do the trick and the boys came out fighting all over the park and took the lead again shortly into the 2nd half, we never really looked back after that with most of the play in the West Kilbride half and added a couple more goals, amongst all the chaos there was some good stuff with good link up play by Jax, Jude and Drew who was a live wire all day, goal of the game had to have been ATs 2nd goal from long range which was past the keeper before he knew anything about it 🚀, we have to mention Colton's 5 goals in the match and in honesty it should've been more, Rhys scored a lovely half volley from a great leaping header from Jax.

Our first taste of Monday night football this season saw us cruising up the coast to Fairlie to face Largs Colts tonight, the boys started decently and had the better early chances but just couldn’t break the deadlock. Similarly to the Troon game, we were caught out by the same long balls over the top and went into half time 3-0 down.

A few shell shocked faces came in at half time, some even blaming the ball being flat! Some choice words of encouragement later, the boys took to the pitch and proved without a doubt, football is a game of 2 halves.

An almost instant strike from Ollie raised the spirits and 2 absolute worldies from Jude brought us back level, the boys knew the comeback was on! Jay put us ahead from about 30 yards and we didn’t look back after that, Ollie got his second and then first goals for our left and right back, Harry and Josh, took us out of reach. Absolutely buzzing for them to score their first goals for Dean!

The score line was polished off with a thunderbolt strike from Aaron B. A thoroughly professional second half from the boys, what a comeback!

Refs player of the match was Aaron K 👏👏 he was a nuisance to the Largs defence and even seemed to Hulk up after a heavy tackle early in the second half

Dean Thistle Blues - Ayr Boswell

The first home game of the season for the Blues felt like a special occasion this morning, the pitch was immaculate in the sunshine and there was a buzz in the air, the boys turned up with a spring in there step and a point to prove after the midweek disappointment at Troon.

And did they prove it!

Rumours of an injured Aaron K meant a slight reshuffle before kick-off but the boys started the match positively, creating chances early on, Kyle made the breakthrough followed by Geo, Aaron Band Jay.

When Aaron K made his way onto the pitch the injury rumours were proved to be nothing to worry about! They went into half time with a comfortable lead, and despite starting the second half slowly they got back into the groove and extended the lead even further, finished off by a penalty in the dying seconds.

Coaches player was also Aaron K,👏👏 however it should be said that every Blue on that pitch this morning raised their game, a truly impressive performance and they deserve to be chuffed with themselves. 👏👏

Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 2 - Stewarton 3.

A tough one to take this weekend on the back of 4 very good points in a week. Dean took a deserved lead from the penalty spot from the cool Colton after Rhys sneaked in front of the keeper who pulled him back, the next 10 minutes was a bit of 1 way traffic with Dean putting the pressure on Stewarton, missing a host of chances. Not taking those chances cost us as Stewarton managed to grab an equaliser against the run of play and that took us to half time 1-1.

The 2nd half started much the same as the 1st with Dean doing absolutely everything other than putting the ball in the net, with all the chances we missed you just knew Stewarton were going to create something, grabbing their 2nd with a well worked goal on the break.

Stewarton then grabbed a late 3rd with a ball over the top while we were pushing players up the park, we managed to get one back late on from a lovely corner in from Jenson and Ollie met well on the head. we battled on and created a few wee sniffs but it wasnt to be.

Well played to Stewarton, its always a close game between us. Best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Spartans 5 v Dean Thistle Blues 1

The boys came up against one of the toughest tests they will face this season tonight, they took an early lead from a wonder goal from Kyle after taking it past what felt like half the team!

The boys couldn’t capitalise on the momentum and were caught out on the break a couple of times and went into half time down 2-1.

The Spartans started the second half well and extended their lead by a few more, the boys dug deep and kept going but the chances were harder to come by in the last 20 minutes. The boys showed character and never gave up, and the work rate was tremendous right to the end. A cracking game for a neutral but just not our night.

Our goal was scored by Kyle ⚽️

Refs player of the match was Jay 👏👏

Coaches player of the match was Cailin👏👏

Now we need to dust ourselves off and get ready for our first home game of the season vs Ayr Boswell on Saturday!

Dean Thistle Reds 🔴 4 - Glenburn 3.

Tonight we played Glenburn down at the Dean, the game started very evenly with both teams testing each other out, Glenburn took the lead from a freekick out wide that flew into the top corner.

Half time came with Dean not really creating much more than half chances, 2nd half started brightly with both Drew and Archie making a clear difference since coming on just before half time, but we shortly found ourselves 2 nil behind.

Credit to the Dean boys as their heads never went down and got themselves back into the match pretty much from the restart from lovely outside of the foot shot from Colton that gave a very good Glenburn goalie no chance, that goal ignited the boys and we were 1st to every ball and Harry scored an equaliser from a beautiful through ball by AT in the middle of the Dean pressure.

At that point it looked like there was only going to be one winner but Glenburn put a spanner in the works by taking the lead again, it looked like time was running out but a long ball in the last dying minutes from Elliot found Jax who took a touch and lobbed the goalie!

It looked like that would be that but deep into injury time Archie scored a belter of a volley over the goalie to send the reds wild in celebration. The team saw out the final few added on minutes for a great win against a very good side.

Coaches Player of the Match - Couldn't pick one so Full Team. 👏👏👏.
