❤️💚 ONE WEEK ON FROM WELSH NATIONALS… 💚❤️

It’s hard to believe that just over a week ago we were preparing for our BTAC Welsh National Championships 2026 — and what an incredible day it turned out to be! 🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

40 Welsh National Champions were crowned, but when we look back at Nationals, it’s not only the titles and trophies that stand out.

It’s the athlete who stepped onto the floor despite the nerves. ❤️

The athlete who achieved something they’d been working towards for months. 💚

The athlete who didn't get the placing they hoped for but picked themselves up and kept going. ❤️

The cheers from teammates at the side of the floor. 💚

The coaches who were just as nervous as their athletes! 😂

And the families and supporters who celebrated every single achievement.

That’s what our sport is about.

Confidence. Resilience. Friendship. Sportsmanship. Memories. ✨

For some, it was their very first Welsh Nationals. For others, another chapter in their twirling journey. And for those who took part in our Welsh Selection events, it marked the beginning of an exciting journey towards representing Wales internationally in 2027. 🌍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Thank you once again to every athlete, coach, judge, official, volunteer, parent and supporter who helped make Welsh Nationals 2026 such a special day.

🌟 BTAC SEMINAR WITH ALANNA DARDAS – OPEN TO ALL CLUBS! 🌟

We’re very excited to welcome Alanna Dardas from Scotland to Holyhead for a fantastic BTAC Seminar this November! ❤️💚

Alanna brings a wealth of experience to the sport as a former dancer, competitive baton twirler and experienced coach, having taught Acrobatic Arts and Baton Twirling for 20 years. She is also heavily involved with TwirlSport Scotland as a board member and Competition Officer, and her club, Dardas Diamonds, has produced athletes who have achieved success both nationally and internationally. ✨

This is a brilliant opportunity for our athletes to learn, develop and be inspired by a different coach, while building their skills and confidence ready for the season ahead.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ALMOST OVER…

After months of training, preparation, determination and hard work, BTAC Welsh National Championships week has officially arrived! 🔥

Across our BTAC clubs, athletes will be putting those final touches to their routines this week…

✨ Skills being polished
🎵 Routines getting their final run-throughs
💪 Last-minute corrections being made
👗 Costumes getting competition-ready
❤️ Coaches giving those final words of encouragement
😬 And we're sure there are already a few Nationals butterflies appearing!

But this week isn't about trying to change everything.

It's about trusting the work you've already done.

Every practice.

Every correction.

Every drop where you picked that baton straight back up.

Every skill that wouldn't work… until suddenly it did.

Every moment has brought you to THIS WEEK. ❤️

🏆 Some athletes will be chasing Welsh National titles.

🌟 Some will be aiming for a personal best.

❤️ Some will experience their very first Welsh Nationals.

And for some, the weekend will also bring the opportunity to take another step towards the incredible honour of representing Wales internationally.

Whatever your goal on Saturday, step onto that floor knowing you've earned your place there.

But who are some of the people working behind the scenes at Baton Twirling Association Cymru?

Today, we'd like to introduce you to three members of the BTAC team. 👋

⭐ JESSICA SHORE
President of Wales | Founder & Creator of BTAC

Jessica is the founder and creator of Baton Twirling Association Cymru and serves as our President of Wales.

With a passion for developing baton twirling across Wales, Jessica has been instrumental in creating BTAC and building opportunities for Welsh athletes, coaches and clubs to develop, compete and be part of a growing twirling community.

⭐ KEELEY MIDWINTER
🏆 Technical Advisor | BTAC Competition Coordinator | Judge

Keeley plays a key role in the technical and competitive development of BTAC.

As our Technical Advisor, Competition Coordinator and a BTAC Judge, Keeley supports the development of athletes and coaches while helping to ensure our competitions provide a positive and professional experience for everyone involved.

⭐ FAYE WRIGHT
⚖️ Judges' Representative | Head Judge for BTAC

Faye is our Judges' Representative and Head Judge, playing an important role in supporting BTAC's judging team and maintaining standards across our competitions.

Her knowledge and experience are invaluable as BTAC continues to develop and provide competitive opportunities for athletes throughout Wales.

❤️💚 Together, they share one goal:

To help baton twirling grow, develop and thrive in Wales.

From supporting athletes and coaches to developing competitions and creating new opportunities, there's a huge amount of work that happens behind the scenes.

And this is only the beginning of our introductions! 👀
