Not the result we deserved today.

For 70 mins the lads were fantastic incredible. Played some wonderful football.

Never seen a referee award a penalty and then speak to the linesman (who happens to be a player from the opposition) and seek his advice and change his mind and give the opponent a free kick.

That would have taken us 2 nil up and absolutely cruising should we have scored the penalty.

Moments later we’re 1-1 and really set back.

Robbed and mugged and in the end a sad disappointing result and nothing went our way despite the efforts and hard work from the lads.

A much needed 3 points today from the lads.

Two goals from super Josh with two fantastic deliveries from corners from Ozzy putting us 2 nil up.

A fine finish from Alie to make it 3 from a sublime assist from Corey.

The game halted for 20 minutes whilst the Air Ambulance arrived on site to look after a spectator that needed attention.

It really puts things in to perspective when you see our incredible emergency services at work.

Thankfully - It seems that the spectator is making a good recovery.

When the game resumed the lads dug deep with a well deserved and much needed win.

Parents man of the match went to Josh with players man of the match going to Ozzy.

Today’s players man of the match goes to Lucas Birkin.

Despite the loss the lads did ok and despite a good start we just couldn’t keep it going.

Ashton Ward put us 1 nil to the good but the lads couldn’t sustain it and ended up with a 2-5 loss.

Parents man of the match is joint winners with Ashton Ward and Joshy Ukatu. Really good performances from all 3 players.

Finally, Octobers player of the month goes to Ric Hutchinson with some impressive performances during the last few games and slotted in a centre half really good.

Well done boys and we move on to the next game.

Today we travelled to COS in the county cup preliminary round.

After two successive wins we were hoping to take the recent success in to the next round for the start of a cup journey.

Blues started with the same line up that finished the game against Nantwich town last week.

The game got underway and in typical blues fashion we started slowly finding ourselves 0-1 down after about 25 mins.

We rode out luck at times with Lucas with a goal line clearance and Harley making some good saves and Ric with a last ditch tackle.

A change after 25 minutes proved fruitful with Archie getting in the pitch to put us 1-2 up at the break.

As the game grew on a number of chances were created with Zac going close as did Archie, Ali, Ashy and the keeper making some good interceptions.

Corey strolled through the midfield going past several players to slot home to put us 1-3 up for a contender for goal of the season.

As the game drew to a close both sides had a few opportunities with Blues going closest with Zac and Archie which saw blues move in to the next round of the County Cup.

Players man of the match went to Ric and parents man of the match to our Archie.

Well done guys, 3 wins on the trot now and keep it going.

Next week we face Abbey Hulton in another tough encounter.

We travelled to our near neighbours Nantwich Town today and came out somewhat fortuitous victorious.

Within the first 5 seconds we found ourselves 1 nil down after a long ball over our full back for the Nantwich town player out then in front.

Nantwich had huge calls for a peno but the ref waved play on.

We managed to get ourselves back in the game from a free kick from Myles who lofted one in the box for Danny to knock one back from the far post for Ashy to slot in.

Soon after though we found ourselves 1-2 down and then 1-3 down and fearing it could be 6 or 7 to Nantwich.

Credit where credit is due, we held on and at times rode our luck and after 55 mins on came Victor and Allie who simply put, changed the game for us.

Victor pulled one back with a worldie to make it 3-2 finding the top corner from 25 yards.

Allie put Corey through to found the back of the net with great aplomb in the 90th minute.

And then with just seconds remaining we got the ball in the box with Allie smashing home the winner in the roof of the net with the net bulging to out the blues 3-4 up amongst wild scenes including from Manager Birko joining in with the wild celebrations.

Not our best performance by any stretch but getting a 89th minute equaliser felt like a win but then actually getting a 90th minute winner will live forever long in the memory.

All the best to Nantwich for the remainder of the season who can hold their heads up high.

Our players and parents player of the month for September goes to Nat Carney who’s been really impressive since converted to right back.

Well done Nat and well earned and chuffed your team mates and parents recognition your efforts and talent.

The lads were terrific today but very unfortunate not to win the game and a last min peno for Hanley Town saw them collect the 3 points.

Another day it could have been 4 or 5 but fair play to the Hanley keeper with some impressive saves.

A good handful of efforts from Archie, Corey, Josh, Ry, Isaac add Oscar each but we couldn’t quite capitalise on these opportunities.

A very good performance though and we can take lots of positives.

Efforts and attitudes were there for all to see.

Defensively the lads were sound with Captain Lucas, Myles, Ashy and Nat doing well first half and Danny and Ric in second half limited Hanley to just a couple of opportunities that Harley dealt with efficiently.

The lads were gutted at the end of the game and they’ll be back stronger next week.

Good performance all round the pitch and we go again next week.

Onwards and upwards for the mighty Grove.

Our penultimate pre season friendly saw us come out 3-2 winners against a good Stafford Town side.

A few lads still away which gave other lads lots of match time and game legs.

Stafford took the lead early doors and were in top for the first 15 but against the run of play we managed to get level pe***ng.

A long ball from our stand in keeper was flicked on by Archie who out Ashy in with a fine finish to get level pe***ng.

Shortly after Corey got us in the lead with some incredible dribbling and fine finish.

Corey then won us a peno after dancing in the box but a fine save from the resulting Peno from the keeper kept the score down to 2-1 to Grove.

Second half Archie did the same and won a Peno but normal services resumed with our normal Peno taker Lucas to put us 3-1 ahead.

A few more chances arose for the blues through Archie, Corey and Ashy smashing the bar and Lucas with a fine header saved by the keeper.

As the game drew to a close Stafford got one back to make it 3-2 and had a couple of half chances as so did we.

Some good minutes in the legs today and we face FC Hanley in our last pre season game on Wednesday evening at Packmoor.

Well done today lads, good minutes in the legs and lots of positives to take forward.
