The final league table is out! 🥳

We are over the moon to have climbed the ladder once again this year and finished up in 3rd position 💜

Our girls trained so so hard this season and deserve so much credit. Everything they have learnt, they have put into practice and it’s paid off week in week out. We have  had so much fun and laughter along the way and there is no other way we would rather spend our summer! ⚾️

Nikki, thank you for being such a fantastic captain. We all appreciate your guidance, coaching and support so so much. You’re our confidant, chief organiser and debt collector 😂 You put a tireless amount of effort into making the Vixens what they are and you never give up on us even when things get tough. We love you so much 💜 Never leave us 😂

Our umpire Lucy, THANK YOU! After breaking your wrist meaning you had to step away from playing, you stuck with us, deservedly gained your level 3 umpiring qualification and absolutely bossed it with your unbiased and knowledgeable match decisions. We really appreciate you giving your time to us each week and still training with us 🥰

Our supporters were fantastic again this year, constantly cheering us on from the sidelines. Our kids are starting to love Thursday nights as much as we do and our partners give us so much support on and off the pitch 💜 Alun Camp has gained about 12 new daughters 🙄😂 and has been a fantastic trolley Dolly with extra water on hot nights 🥵 

We have loved spending another summer at our home ground Woodford Community and Sports Club, thank you for staying open to water us after our games 🍻 and a big thanks to Boz for beautifully marking our pitch every week 🙌 

Congratulations to Thrapston Ladies Rounders for holding onto that top spot! And a huge thank you to Georgie and Cloudz for organising another fantastic summer of rounders! ⚾️

And so that concludes our summer season, we are so sad! 😭

Last night, the ladies from Mawsley came over to play 🖤

What we thought might be a showery evening stayed fine and we were able to achieve our final win of the season, a great way to finish what has been a fantastic summer!

Our penultimate match of the summer season ☹️

Last night the lovely ladies from Gretton Ladies Rounders came over for a rather hot and sweaty match!

With plenty of laughs, sunshine and fun we batted the night away, finishing just in time before the sun set 🌅 the Vixens switched up their triangle as captain Nikki is away sunning herself in Cornwall and it worked pretty well! 🙌

We are so sad that we only have two matches left! 😭 the summer season goes way too fast 😫

Last night Titchmarsh Ladies Rounders came over for our second leg game.

Fantastic fielding from the Vixens kept Titchmarsh’s score down, but unfortunately it was a loss for us

Our favourite day of the week, match night! ⚾️🦊

Firstly, we completely forgot to do a match report for last week 🙈 so before we continue:
Last week’s score was:
Titchmarsh: 20🥇
Vixens: 12.5

And tonight we travelled over to Raunds Womens Rounders ☺️ the balls absolutely flew on the mega short ground, there was some cracking rounders from both teams and the Vixens mixed up some fielding with great results 🙌

Tuesday match night! ⚾️

It was so nice to go over and see Gretton Ladies Rounders tonight for our first match with them this summer!

A game with sunshine, laughter and fabulous play from both sides, a perfect night!
These girls are the new kids on the block this season and showed some fantastic fielding and batting skills!

Name to be decided tonight - but as you can see it’s already joined us at the pub after the nationals and will more than likely frequent a few more post match drinks 🤣

What a fantastic day we had at the Rounders England National Finals! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚾️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The talent that we saw and played against yesterday was absolutely insane. The fact that we even managed to secure ourselves a spot there, playing against the best teams in the country is something that we are so proud of!

We knew it was going to be extremely tough, so we just looked at it as a day of fun and experience… and boy was it! Our girls played their hearts out and worked their socks off all day long, their determination and passion was second to none and we all played amazingly 💜

Thank you so much as always to our army of supporters who came along to cheer us on, you guys really keep us going and keep the fire in our bellies 🦊
Thank you rounders dad Alun Camp for your trolley of extra water for us all and being a second backstop, helping us and other teams with that pesky fence 😂 and of course our ever supportive partners and mini vixens!

And a huge huge mention to others who came from other teams, just to sit with us for the day and cheer us on for support!

Daniel Collins from Ipswich Ravens, we cannot thank you enough for travelling all this way just to see us, it was lovely spending the day with you, we appreciate the support so much!
Lisa Irons from Geddington Kites and Jessica Needham from Weldon Women’s Rounders, you ladies are amazing, having familiar faces turn up just to support us really made our hearts burst 💜
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you are all true and special friends!

And of course a huge thank you to Mary who travelled all the way from Cornwall just to play with us again! You smashed it! We love you!

A huge congratulations to Smashboks who were the National Champions this year!

The sunburn, grazes, bruises, bug bites, and muscle pains were all worth it.. we think 😂

Did you know it’s National Rounders Day today!?!

And did you also know that tomorrow, the Nene Valley Vixens are taking on some of the best teams in the country at the Rounders England National Finals! 🥎

To be honest, when we headed to the regional finals in Hinckley back in May, we never expected to qualify for Nationals. So just being there is something we’re incredibly proud of.

And the best bit? It’s just down the road in Wellingborough!

If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow, we’d love to see some familiar faces cheering the girls on as they take on some incredible opposition. Your support would mean the world to us.

Wish the Vixens luck! 🧡🦊💜💪
