While in Bangkok, I messaged a popular local squash group looking for a game.

Got invited down… turns out it was Thailand’s No.1 female player, eek.

Not ideal timing. I hadn’t played in over 2 months.

A week of rushed prep later, this was the result.

(And yes, excuses, excuses, we’d already been on court 30 minutes before filming…)

We have regular nights running each week (apart from bank holidays) you can get involved in depending on your level of Squash.

We are trying to get something going for beginners looking to try Squash for the first time as we have had a lot of interest about it, thanks for your patience.

Congratulations to Alex Kingsley who won our annual Kettering Arena Squash Club trophy on Saturday, taking revenge by beating Richard Berry, previous 2 year winner, 2-0 in the final, winning back the trophy he first won after moving to the area back in 2022.

Also a massive well done to newcomer Joe Harris, who narrowly beat Suraj Kumar in a superb closely fought shield final, after only beginning to play Squash last year, a bright future for the former Commonwealth Javelin thrower.

Well known and loved Kettering teacher Bernie Goodman has space for another 4-5 players to join his regulars at the Saturday Squash morning he’s run for over 25 years.

This is our top tier of Squash on offer for experienced players. We have 2 teams in the Northants inter-club divisions that run from October to March in the winter league and July to September for the summer league.

Round-robin format, every Monday (barring banks holidays) 7 – 9 pm, for players either in, or looking to get into our teams. This night was set up by Nick Wilkins over 20 years ago!

Up for the challenge? Then come along and test yourself against some of Kettering’s best players.
