Cameron sent in these beauty’s
So I got down to the syndicate for about 7/7:15 had a quick look around and I have been after this one fish to end my spring being the queen of the lake!
That dreaded time approached for carp anglers and that being spawning, so I though I will start in a area that I know they pass when they make the route to the part of the lake that they spawn in and last year did very well out of!
Put the rods out on clips I had from last year and something just didn’t feel right, they didn’t feel like they did last year and then it was confirmed when a black faced gul dive bombed I to the water and picked my rig up ( something I had never seen before) time ticked by and I was starting to think would it happen as this swim did 90% day bites going off what I had caught out of it last year!
It got to 5 o’clock Lee had rang me and after a few minutes of chatting to him, he gave me the pep talk of moving and it’s something I 110% wouldn’t do at that time of day BUT so glad I did!
In the new swim non as helipad I got all 3 rods with half a kilo of soaked TNT over the top out for 6pm felt confident and sat back to watch the eveing in!
9 o’clock right hand rod was away, after a short scrap under the rod tips a mega mirror was in the net this know going 25.10 usually a 30 and it was an original known as warty! I had only said the week prior I wanted that fish!
Rod back out another half a kilo over the top and off to bed I went, 3am come round the rod way away again!! This time results in a 20.10 mirror, I didn’t get the rod back out as it was such a particular cast I didn’t want to attempt it at night!
As I had no sooner put the fish in the net the middle rod way away resulting in a 23.4 mirror and the power this fish had was ridiculous! It must have taken 50-60 yard of line on the take and if I had lost it I would have said there was a catfish in the lake!
I got back in bed and couldn’t get my self back to sleep so at 5am I wrapped up the middle and right rod again put them back out with another half a kilo over each!
At exactly 6:08 the right hand rod was away and this felt different, holding deep, no head shaking, long powerful serges and after 2 attempts of netting it it was finally in the net and I heart rate shot up! The first thing I said was “is that her”
Got her out and on the scales and it went 31.12 it was caught last November at 38 so at first I didn’t think it was only to find out it was her and she had clearly spawned a few weeks go!
A new PB common, another A framer in warty and 2 mega mirror to back it up!
All on the TNT fishing whites over the top soaked in hydrolysed peanut oil!
What a result and what a feeling ®
