Our good friends at Pickledilly Circus MK are holding a pickleball festival on Saturday, 17th October. We’ll be there and hope some of you will sign up and join us.

The Pickledilly Festival of Courts is just around the corner! 🎪
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17th, from 09:00-18:00 at Cranfield University Sport Hall.

With the English Nationals coming up shortly after, this is the ultimate chance to get match-ready, test out new partnerships, or just spend a fantastic day on court with our amazing community.

Everyone is welcome to step into the action! whether you are a total beginner, a junior rising through the ranks, or a competitive tournament player fine-tuning your game.

Here is what is happening on the day:
8 full hours of continuous court action tailored to your skill level
A completely non-DUPR event so you can play with zero rating pressure
Open to all ages and abilities, including juniors, friends, and rivals
Free hot drinks and snacks kept flowing all day long

Last week I was volunteering at a Pickleball Tournament, the English Open.

The English Open has been running for many years from the Telford International Centre...the event had outgrown that space and is now at the NEC in Birmingham.

They built 62 courts, including 2 Championship Courts where you could watch the live stream.

3,400 players from 56 countries, playing men's, women's, boys, girls, singles, doubles, age groups, wheelchair event and a Para event over 7 days.

I learnt a lot about the rules, I even had a go...and I bumped into Allan from the Kenilworth Pickleball Club.

Allan kindly invited me over this evening to meet more of the members and play a few matches...he didn't have to ask me twice...I'll try any sport, especially with a bat or racket.

I had a very energetic and enjoyable couple of hours. Everyone was very patient and kind, and made me feel welcome. The session was very inclusive and there was a good mix of people, with varying levels of skill and experience...and a couple of new people this evening too.

A lovely way to spend time being active mentally and physically.
