Spider is a handsome, quality horse with the potential to develop into a lovely competition horse. He is in consistent work, schooling nicely on the flat, however is green for his age.
Out hacking, Spider is a pleasure, confident, relaxed and genuinely enjoys it. He is happy in traffic and takes everything in his stride. He would equally enjoy a life as a happy hacker, and would really benefit from a summer of hacking, fun rides and varied work to continue building his confidence under saddle.
In the arena, Spider can lack confidence and become tense, and if pushed too quickly he may feel overwhelmed. For this reason, he is not a novice ride and requires a calm, experienced and sympathetic rider who will give him time and reassurance.
Spider underwent kissing spine surgery last year and has made a full recovery.
On the ground, he is an absolute pleasure; kind, affectionate and easy to manage, good to handle, load and in all routine situations.
As a youngster, he was successfully shown in-hand, with wins and championships at Great Yorkshire Show, Aintree and Royal Cheshire.
