Cracking weekend running a Paddle UK Paddlesport Leader training, working alongside Fearless Adventure ! 🛶🌊
We had a fantastic mix of experience across the group, with plenty learned, ideas shared and lots of great discussions along the way.

☀️ Saturday brought amazing weather, along with some lively Force 3 winds — perfect conditions for giving the team a real taste of what it’s like to lead confidently as a Paddlesport Leader.

🌧️ Sunday may have been a little damper, but it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! Everyone got fully stuck into rescue skills, rounding off a brilliant weekend on the water.
Great effort from everyone involved! 👏🛶

A great weekend with 7 members from Clitheroe Canoe Club on a Paddle Sport Leader/Touring Leader Development course. 🛶

The Lakes once again provided a brilliant classroom for both the open water and river elements, with enough wind and rain to add a bit of realism to the rescue practice and leadership scenarios!

Everyone got stuck into every part of the weekend, asked plenty of questions, and worked hard throughout, which made it a really enjoyable couple of days.

Huge congratulations to John, Lacie, Holly, and Bethany on passing their Paddlesport Instructor qualification! 🛶👏

They threw themselves into every aspect of the course, from the practical sessions on the water to the discussions and learning off it. Throughout the course, they demonstrated the enthusiasm, knowledge, and attitude needed to become excellent paddlesport instructors.
It's been a privilege to see the start of their instructing journey, and I'm excited to watch them grow and develop in the years ahead.

A big thank you as well to Chris from . It was great working alongside him and combining over 30 years of paddlesport experience to support the team.

Okay… not technically a gadget 😅 But I wouldn’t be without my pram bag and cup holder on multi-day adventures!
The bag fits perfectly under my yoke, and the cup holder clips on anywhere — keeping all the essentials within easy reach: drinks, snacks, suncream, and of course… coffee ☕️😁
Honestly, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference!

Ready to take your paddling to the next level and start teaching others? Join us for a Paddle UK Instructor Course set in the stunning surroundings of Kielder Water. This two-day course is perfect for paddlers looking to begin their journey as qualified instructors.
You’ll learn how to deliver safe, engaging, and enjoyable sessions, covering everything from group management to effective coaching techniques.

✅ Prerequisites:
• Be at least 16 years old
• Hold Paddle UK membership
• Paddle Sport Safety and Rescue
• Be able to paddle confidently in your chosen craft (Canoe, Kayak, SUP or Sit on Top)

🎯 Ideal for aspiring instructors across all paddle disciplines.

Huge congratulations to Jake on passing his Paddle Sport Leader award! 🛶🚣🏼‍♀️He delivered a well-organised and confidently led trip around Windermere and up the River Brathay, handling both the windy conditions on the lake and the river brilliantly.

We also couldn’t have done it without our fantastic volunteers, who not only came along to support the assessment but also willingly took a dip in the water for us! 💪🏼

It was also great to be assessing alongside of , who is now also a fully fledged PSL Provider.😎
An all-round great day with an even better group of people.☀️💨☔
