Pre season friendly this morning v Harton

With only the 9 available the lads new they would have to work hard for the full game with no breaks and subs available and they certainly did that and not only kept at it but they were consistently very good all game which shows how hard these lads work and how fit and strong they all are!!

They were constantly pressing and battling and used the ball very well some solid defensive work then quick and clever on the ball to attack with pace. If they didn’t win the first ball they were at it for the second and third and never gave the opposition much chance on the ball or to play for large parts of the game using every ounce of energy they had!!

We had some of new lads who hadn’t played with the team yet and they came in were confident and played excellent.

We have worked on the lads confidence to talk more during the game and help each other on the pitch and this was evident today loads of talking and working in pairs to win the ball back.

James as well in goal positioning himself well to be off his line and keep it calm at the back and he was full of support and praise for his team.

Everyone could be player of the week sponsored by Craft and Coffee, but it goes to Danny, absolutely fantastic at right back, last ditch block on the line to keep the clean sheet. Going forward great vision to play us on quick counter attacks. Blocked everything and great strength on the ball and to win it back well done mate

Brilliant morning for the Jarrow March!! Great turn out by the club great so see players, coaches, families and pets all involved marching from Perth Green to Hedworthfield to raise funds for the club which go towards essential costs new kit and maintaining the club going forward!!
