A busy day for Ventnor Bowls club, who were hosting two visiting teams, ourselves and Sandown. All six lanes in use. The sun always shines in Ventnor, though not all the time on this day.
Out of our own three teams, we only managed one win. So, congratulations to Ventnor. A great bunch of fellas to play opposite. We look forward to the return match on our own home ground.

A busy week for the ladies bowls team. Started on Sunday 14th. A county four wood singles match. Though both players were from Camp Hill. It was neck and neck all the way. The final score 16 - 12. Maureen now goes forward to the next round.

The following day two County matches, first one Monday morning, playing another Ladies four wood singles.. Camp Hill. V. Ryde B. C. Another win for Camp Hill, a very close result 21-20. Monday afternoon Ladies pairs. Camp Hill B.C. v Totland. B.C the players had an enjoyable match. The final score 25-9. Camp Hill now go forward to the next round.

Next county match today (Wednesday) first round. Camp. Hill V Ryde B. C. The ladies pairs, still on our home ground. Followed by two more matches this afternoon. We wish them an enjoyable game.

Our afternoon bowls match Camp Hill B.C. v Newport B.C.. it was good to see blue skies, too many recent games in inclement weather. An enjoyable match with a good crowd of players. Always a pleasure to have a contest with our near neighbours. Both clubs being in the Newport area.

Pleased to say we had a good day, the final result being 7-3. One lane we had to abort the match, it was agreed that we would class the match as a draw. One of our players took a turn for the worse. Now being treated at St Mary's, we do wish him well. Also, to say, a big thank you to some of the Newport players that helped to look after our player. You know who you are. Again Thank you.

Tonight was our last preliminary County match playing Bembridge B.C. Good news, we are now in the second round of the Senior Fours on the 9th June. Our score was 25-14. We played a great friendly team, we wish them well in other county games that they may be playing. We did go to the bar for a celebratory drink.

A busy night last evening (Monday 25th) for Camp Hill B.C. Two County matches in one evening. The ladies team were playing Ryde B.C at Totland B.C. in the County Ladies Fours quarter finals. Our ladies did extremely well playing against such an experienced team. The score a very close call 13-15. The Ryde ladies team now go forward to the next round. The mens team on home ground at C.H. we welcomed Sandown B.C. An enjoyable match, we came second to a worthy team. We all enjoyed the banter and chat in the club house after the game. A great team, we do wish them well in the next round.
