Cheers 🥂 to a busy week for me and the girls 🥰

Ponies off to new homes. Some off on very exciting trials. Some new horses started. Others excelling in training. Reign and I certified to get back down to business 💪🏼

It’s been a good week. And we were very kindly gifted a bottle by a client this week for help in finding her next horse 🥰

It’s the small things. It was such a sweet gift and I am glad we could share it tonight ahead of a well earned day off together at the RHS 2026, where we will be spectators for a change instead of in the ring!

Hopefully catch a few of you there 😃

Farra

15.3hh, Chestnut, ISH 11yo, Mare

Farra will make a fantastic riding club horse/all rounder. She’s a game mare who loves her work and likes being kept busy.

Hacks out on her own and in company. Has three correct paces on the flat and all her basic schooling. Loves jumping and is keen to a fence. So far doesn’t seem spooky or phased at anything we have put it front of her.

Good to handle and do, load and travel. Will make a great riding club or amateurs horse for someone keen. Has hunted in previous homes ☺️

Not for novices or people lacking in confidence as she can be a bit buzzy and is keen to a fence ☺️

Look at how adorable she is! The gorgeous Nina 🥰 Arab x Welsh 4yo mare in for backing and then will be looking for a new home 🏡 she has fantastic conformation, a beautiful head and gorgeous colour. Think she could be head turner in the show ring and so far proving to have a very trainable attitude!

Unbelievably proud of my other two horses this Sunday who tackled their first intermediate! Can’t believe we now have three intermediate ponies at the yard now ❤️

Katy Rycroft’s Mr Brown Van Vonderschotten really stepped up for his biggest test to date after a bit of a whoopsie at Osberton. We had a really good lesson with JJ on the Tuesday and I was chuffed to pull his canter marks up a bit and he finished on a solid score of 33.9. He has so much movement but is still learning to control his new found power. Onto sj where we had 2 down but on an otherwise good round. One I should have turned squarer to with a small spook and one where he was a little lax through the combination. Onto cross country where I was determined to do back out and do it justice if I could just get my nose to stop bleeding to allow me to compete after my fall on Reign. Can’t get over how easy he found some of the fences despite me riding a little cautiously and playing it safe up some distances he cruised round a very tough track for 11.6 time and 9th place! 🎉🎉🎉

Can’t wait for Alnwick where I will hopefully be a bit bolder and go more for the time and start to get more competitive with him 🥰

Lastly Anna Miller’s Negretta Remo was just a bit special cross country 🥰 it’s always been her phase but control has been a major factor for us as well as tension in the dressage. The step up allowed us to wear her double bridle in competition and other than one wobble in the walk pick up we held it together for some lovely moments for 36.6.
Show jumping is her weakest phase and I was wary of her rangy canter over the bigger fences but we managed to contain ourselves and although we claimed a couple of poles definitely showed her confidence and scope.
Finally cross country. What can I say! Her right turn turn off a log drop to the corner was always going to be a test. I had a plan to go long but she was so ridable I decided last minute to go for it and she was epic! 😍 and finished in 13th place 💪🏼

All the direct lines on all three horses I was just delighted. I admit to being a bit chicken at the water 💦 on representation with the other two as I didn’t want to eat dirt again but the horses dug deep and carried me through the finish line! 🥰

I still have a lot to learn at this level and hugely appreciated training and advice from Wills Oakden Eventing the week before and on the day as we discussed the xc a track in the warm up 💪🏼

It was great to be able to support an intermediate track back in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and encouraged me to push myself and step up! Looking forward to watching this fantastic venue develop further over years to come. Huge thank you to all the organisers, volunteers and team that made it possible. We will be back! 🤩

The highs and lows of eventing for sure! Frances Johnstone’s Reign and I unfortunately had our first major mistake together two from home in the intermediate yesterday, where unfortunately we had a rotational fall at the fence above the water. We have had a fairly faultless partnership over the years but it was a stark reminder that our sport is dangerous and accidents do unfortunately happen. I have been beating myself up about how I could have prevented it but you make split second decisions all the time on the cross country and sometimes they don’t go our way ❤️

Thank you for all the messages asking after myself and Reign, we are both now home safe ❤️ A bit battered and bruised but doing good. Thanks to the onsite team of vets, doctors and volunteers at South of Scotland Horse Trials for their care of myself and Reign when it happened 🥰 we are lucky to have access to help so quickly when situations like this happen!

She had been running fantastic up until this point and had tackled all the difficult questions, taken all the straight routes and I was so proud of her regardless 🥰

I managed to get back on and ride my other two horses which was so rewarding after such a crashing fall. I was able to leave Reign in the fantastic hands of my team and although she will need a wee bit of recovery ❤️‍🩹 time but I’m sure will be back fighting fit before long!

She is getting a check up from Bennachie Equine Vets today and a visit from Perform Physio - Equine to make sure she is in the best of hands over the next week!

Another two top 10 finishes for them today in the BE100 at South of Scotland Horse Trials 💪🏼🤩

A PB dressage for Evita with one pole and clear xc to finish 6th 🎉 and a bit of an anxious dressage but making up for it with another double clear to for Etta ❤️

Ready for a step up soon I think!
