This past weekend we had our end of season awards, where we celebrated the positives of the past season, and especially the people who make it all possible, our players

Awards and winners on the night were:

Denon Jackman - Top Goal Scorer
Oliver Harris - Goal of the Season
Jonathan Martin - Unsung Hero
Imran Ali - Coaches player of the season
Matt Donald - Players player of the season

Well done to all our winners and the squad in general for sticking by the team during a difficult campaign

We also announced the new name and badge to the team to a great reception.

Huge thanks to Taran and the team at Playback Inverness for hosting us and keeping us feed and watered, the food was great

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has liked, shared and engaged with the rebranding, the support and feedback has been incredible and really shows us we are on the right path to creating an engaging community football team,

Some background on the choices in the badge, as some of you have asked,

We decided to use the Shackleton bomber for our logo to honour the RAF Shackleton which crash landed in the centre of Smithton in 1964, thankfully nobody was hurt and the rumour is the RAF soldiers were taken back to the Green hall and given that warm Smithton Welcome.

The ruins of the Shackleton are rumoured to be buried beneath the ground and is now celebrated with the Shackleton Memorial Plaque .

A new name, a new identity, but the same ambition, togetherness and passion for the game.

That concludes our 2026 Season,

Its definitely been a season of disappointment but a turn up of performances in the 2nd half showed real fight and character going into next season, hopefully this time with less injuries we can push up the table and show what we are capable off,

G16 United F.C. take on Raigmore FC in the last Ocho Marketing & Branding 1st Division Macron Inverness & District Football Association - IDFA Game of the season,

Not been the greatest of seasons largely in part to injuries but the lads have battled on all season, work is already underway for winter and next season and we aim to bounce back and give 2027 a real go
