GAFFERS REPORT

Yesterday we travelled to Eastvale AFC

Whilst there was a few key players missing the lads knew this would be a tough test.

East vale went 1-0 up within minutes of the game starting.

Attitudes and mentality is something we’ve been focusing on along with patterns of play and transitions. The lads showed it after going behind……

Knocking the ball about really well and actually looking like we had the backing in numbers, we pushed and looked for an equaliser.

Unfortunately for us, we concede another and went into half time 2-0 down and, feeling a little gutted cause of how we played in that 1st half.

Chat at half time…there wasn’t much.

They went into the changing room, we stayed out on the park. Boys spoke about how we’ve played and, with a little more intensity in passing and moving, how we could get something out of this despite some of the lads feeling the effects of the 1st half….

2nd half starts and we started as we had finished the 1st half.

Robbie, played through by striker and bang….2-1!!!! Some goal!!

His third in preseason goal and has been flying.!!

Minutes later, we had another chance and opportunities where arising.

The lads push on and, yep you guessed it, Robbie is in on goal again and it’s 2-2!!!

4th preseason goal for robbienelli!!! (Either gave himself this name or, the lads did….not me) I think…

Games going backwards and forwards and unfortunately for us, they get a 3rd and well deserved as they showed the same mentality to get back into it as we had and did.

Game finished 4-2 with an ace free kick from their number 9!

Takings from the game, everything the lads done today was exactly what has been asked apart from conceding! But that….with the numbers we had today and boys playing injured, thats for another day.!

Once again, we come away from a game disappointed the we never got anything from it.

Well done to east vale and thanks for your hospitality today.! Top lads and look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

Today the lads travel through to Windygates to face Eastvale AFC with a good few regulars missing. Its all about getting minutes in the legs for the team though as we near closer to start of season.

GAFFERS REPORT

Today we travelled to play premier side The Swifts FC - Amateurs

Game started and already you could see the lads where up for it. Few minutes in and a few mistakes, which is bound to happen due to it being 80% a new squad, and we found ourselves 3-0 down early doors.
Not an ideal start but the lads soldiered on even though, understandably heads were down.

Swifts movement was ace…we couldn’t handle that and with their passing and moving, the 1st half finished 6-0 with a mentality change needed from us for the 2nd half. And that we did….

2nd half we started as I wanted us to in the 1st, boys were knocking it about nicley and moving nicley looking to recieve it again. Having not all played together, they coherence was starting to show.
Told the lads at halftime to go out and win that second half. Some lovely play lead to us getting a goal from Damon, with excellent build up play.

Game finished 7-1 but once again, lots of positives to take from this game, like the others and, to take into the start of our up and coming league campaign.

Well done to Swifts and all the best for the season lads, thanks for having us!!

Today we hosted Perth team Wolfhill Afc

Gaffers report

The lads got off to a great start knocking the ball around nicely and with pace and great movement.

Few errors cost us a win today but, there are lots of positives to take from today as well as a lot of learning from what mistakes we did do.

With the game finishing as a draw the lads came away a little disappointed and that shows the spirit and mentality the lads have shown since the start of preseason.

Keep working hard lads!! It’s starting to pay off!!

FRIENDLY RESULT

Wasnt the result we wanted yesterday not at the races but take nothing away from Pitreavie United Seniors who are a well drilled team and deserved the win. Its more minutes in the legs for the boys which is the most important thing.

Back to training hard this week before our next friendly next Saturday.
