When we brought Ditto for me , it was also with Duble in mind 🤍 We wanted him to have his own little friend (we brought Ditto before we were offered the chance to buy Calvados).

So seeing these two happily giving each other scratches out in the field makes me smile .

It’s so important that ponies have friends and time to just be ponies 💫

When the rising 2-year-old has clearly been listening to his Uncles 💨

Ditto decided to test out his “future racing career” with a few very serious zoomies when he came in yesterday.

He’s got years before he can even think about racing — but that doesn’t mean he can’t play a little game of “Let’s Pretend I’m a Racing Shetland.”

Ava & Calvados had their first race in Hong Kong today.
Racing super competitively and finishing a brilliant 2nd.

So proud of them both.
Calvados for giving it absolutely everything while looking after Ava like the perfect gentleman he is , I couldn’t love this pony more.
And Ava for riding like she stole it 🔥 giving Calvados a ride he clearly loved.

Gutted I’m not there to hug them both right now.
Missing them all so much 💔

While it’s still the middle of the night for us, over in Hong Kong the alarm clocks are ringing as show day has arrived — and that means it’s race day .

Wishing all the Shetland Pony Grand National ponies & jockeys the best of luck and a special extra good luck to our Calvados & Ava.

Calvados and Ava have worked so hard and grown in confidence, this is a special moment for them. Ride with a smile, have fun, and make memories you’ll never forget.

Good luck to you all — I will be cheering you on from home.

Day 3 – Hong Kong 🇭🇰
With The Shetland Pony Grand National.

As always starts with breakfast and a sunny walk out with friends.

This afternoon the ponies and jockeys headed into the main arena for their arena familiarisation — helping both settle, take in the jumps, lights, and give the show team a look at setting the course and their lights.

Calvados was an absolute little star, just like all his friends — little professionals ⭐️

Back to the stable for sloppy mash (which of course had to be tipped on the floor first!).

The show starts tomorrow… the excitement is real.

🇭🇰 Day Two – Hong Kong
With the Shetland Pony Grand National Shetland Pony Grand National.

Another quiet and relaxed day for all the ponies.
Calvados enjoyed a sunny walk outside early this morning before a lovely warm shower using the shampoo bar.

This afternoon marked their first ride at the . With a gentle leg stretch in the arena mainly walk and small amount of trot, just enough to loosen up and relax.

Day One – Hong Kong 🇭🇰

Calvados arrived safely after his flight from Liège, Belgium, looking and feeling good.

Poppy was very happy to be reunited with him. We were kept up to date with messages and videos throughout his journey, but nothing beats that first cuddle .

He enjoyed a lovely leg stretch with Ava, tucked into a yummy mash, and has since been relaxing in his stable, munching on his hay and catching up on some well-earned zzz’s.

He’s settled in with all his home comforts — his toys, salt lick, haynet, fresh water, and a lovely comfy bed.

Dinner was enjoyed with some extra carrots, kindly shared with Mini Flo 🥕🥕

So incredibly proud of him 🐴✨

So special seeing Calvados reunited with a very happy Poppy 🥹💙

After his flight to Hong Kong, he’s looking well and feeling great. He’s had a good drink, enjoyed a leg stretch with Ava, and is now happily tucked up in his stable, munching his hay like nothing ever happened ✈️🐴

A well-earned rest now before the excitement begins on Friday. We’re so proud of him already ✨

And she’s off ✈️

Poppy is on her way to Hong Kong to meet up with Calvados — her first long-haul flight on her own.

I’m so proud of her for doing this, and for allowing me to stay home with the other ponies. I know she’ll look after Calvados & Ava , and he’s lucky to have her.

Over the past couple of years, Poppy has taken over all aspects of the ponies care , training, shows etc , and I’m now just the driver , groom and their biggest supporter.

I’ve got massive mum guilt for not going with her, but she insists she’s got this… and I know she does.

She’s no longer a little girl and she’s grown up into a kind, thoughtful, caring young lady.

Very proud of her and can’t wait to hear all about this adventure .
