At the Smalley 5 Bells, we believe great events should leave lasting memories — not a lasting impact on the environment.

We’re committed to making our race as sustainable as possible, taking practical steps to reduce waste, protect our local countryside, and support a greener future. From tree planting and community litter picks to reusable chip timing tags and biodegradable barrier tape, we’re continually looking for ways to make a positive difference. Reusable timing chips alone help reduce the amount of single-use race materials generated at events.

By working together with our runners, volunteers, partners, and local community, we can help preserve the beautiful trails and green spaces that make the Smalley 5 Bells so special.
