Movement doesn’t have to mean the gym 💚

Even as a personal trainer, I know some people struggle to do intense workouts or hours in the gym. The goal isn’t perfection – it’s moving your body in ways that fit your life and make you feel good.

If structured exercise feels overwhelming to you, remember that it all counts.

🚶‍♀️ Walking the dog
🌱 Gardening
🧹 Housework or hoovering
🏊 Swimming or water aerobics
🚲 Cycling with the family
🛒 Walking around the shops
🪜 Taking the stairs instead of the lift
💃 Dancing around the kitchen while making tea

This is all part of NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) – the calories you burn through everyday movement outside of planned workouts.

The more you move throughout the day, the better it can be for your:

* ❤️ Heart health
* 💪 Muscle and joint function
* ⚖️ Weight management
* 😊 Mood and energy levels

Remember: You don’t have to do an hour in the gym to make a difference. Small bursts of movement throughout the day add up.

If you’re just getting started, don’t aim for perfection. Aim to move a little more today than you did yesterday. Every step counts. 💚

Client appreciation post ✨

Two years ago, Nicola made a decision.

Not to chase perfection.
Not to let age define her.
And not to become another statistic.

Today, at 64 years young, she sent me this message after walking to the beauty salon in the rain:

I could feel how strong my legs were and how steady I felt. The old me would have been nervous about slipping. Keep pushing me… I want to get stronger ❤️

This is why I do what I do.

Yes, we’ve celebrated weight loss together, but the biggest transformation has been something you can’t always see in a photo.

It’s the confidence to move without fear.
The strength to face whatever life throws at you.
The belief that your body deserves looking after at every age.

We talk a lot about how movement is medicine. We talk about family, illness and the importance of giving ourselves the best possible chance to live well for as long as we can.

Nicola shows up in every session, puts in the effort, embraces every challenge, and somehow still finds time for our absolutely wild chats along the way 😂

I couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come, and we’re not done yet. We’re going to keep getting stronger together.

Because fitness isn’t just about losing weight.

It’s about gaining freedom, independence, confidence and the ability to keep living life on your own terms.

Thank you, Nicola, for trusting me over the last two years. I’m so grateful you chose me as your coach, and even more grateful that you continue to choose yourself every single day. 💚💪

💚 Exciting News! 💚

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Janine Lee, Nutritionist and female health advocate to deliver a Women’s Health Event in partnership with the Knowsley Chamber.

This interactive session is all about supporting women at every stage of life with practical, realistic advice that can make a genuine difference to health, wellbeing and confidence – both in and out of the workplace.

Together we’ll be combining:
✨ Practical fitness guidance you can fit into a busy lifestyle
✨ Evidence-based female health and nutrition expertise
✨ Simple strategies to improve movement, energy and wellbeing
✨ Open conversations around topics like stress, menopause and women’s health in the workplace

Our goal is to show that you don’t need to overhaul your life to feel better – small, consistent changes can have a huge impact.

I’m incredibly passionate about making fitness accessible for everyone, and I can’t wait to share the stage with Janine to help empower more women to prioritise their health.

If you’re attending, we can’t wait to see you there! 💛 Janine Lee | Nutritionist (MN.Nutr) | Menopause Advocate Knowsley Chamber Of Commerce

Hereeeee we go again… 😳🙊

Because apparently I don’t know how to sit still 😂

I actually booked this last month whilst training for the 10K. The more I pushed myself, the more I started to believe that maybe I could achieve something I never thought I’d be capable of.

The confidence was clearly high that day 😳😂

One thing I’ve realised about myself is that I liveeee for a goal. I always need something to work towards, something that pushes me out of my comfort zone and gives me a reason to keep showing up.

After proving to myself what I can do at the 10K, it’s time to focus on the next challenge…

Half Marathon - October 2026 🏃🏼‍♀️
21.1km | 13.1 miles

This will be the biggest running challenge I’ve taken on so far, and it’s going to push me more than ever before.

The goal is set.
The entry is paid for.
The panic has started 😂

The training starts now.

Bring it on 🔥💪🏼🏃‍♀️

Today I completed the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K for the Alzheimer’s Society 💙

Not only did I achieve a huge PB, but I also got to ring the bell at the finish line! something I’m really proud of.

I pushed myself today, but this run was always about much more than a time on a clock. It was about supporting a cause that is incredibly close to my heart and helping to make a difference where it’s needed most.

When I set out to raise money, my goal was £175. Thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends, clients and supporters, together we raised an amazing £1,075.

Thank you to every single person who donated, shared my fundraiser, cheered me on or sent words of encouragement. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.

I booked this race months ago and, at the time, 10K felt massive to me. Maybe not to everyone else, but to me it did. Since Christmas I’ve stayed consistent with my training and, by race day, the distance didn’t feel anywhere near as daunting as it once had.

It’s a reminder that consistency really does pay off. Showing up, even when you don’t feel like it, adds up over time. I still had to dig deep today, but I’ve managed to bring my running time down massively and I’m so proud of that progress.

Most importantly, though, this was never about chasing a PB. It was about raising awareness and money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Research, support and care for those affected by dementia will only improve if we keep talking about it, fundraising for it and pushing for change.

Because dementia doesn’t just affect one person – it affects entire families.

Thank you again for helping me make a small difference.

For everyone living with dementia, and every family navigating it alongside them, we keep going 💙

“Personal Training is a luxury…”

I hear this all the time.

And you’re right — personal training is a luxury.

But so is the takeaway every Friday.
So is the daily coffee run.
So are the subscriptions we forgot we signed up for.
So is the gym membership that’s been coming out of your bank account every month without being used.

The truth is, we all spend money on things that matter to us.

Some people choose nights out.
Some choose holidays.
Some choose clothes.
Some choose investing in their health, confidence and wellbeing.

PT isn’t just paying for an hour of exercise.

It’s accountability when motivation disappears.
It’s support when you’re struggling.
It’s a plan when you don’t know where to start.
It’s someone in your corner helping you become stronger, fitter and healthier.

You don’t have to spend money on personal training.

But if you’ve spent years paying for things that haven’t moved you closer to your goals, maybe it’s worth asking yourself:

What would happen if you invested in yourself instead? 💚

JF97 5K ❤️ Every year I run for the 97 at Stanley park, it’s always a great atmosphere and a great occasion, but this one was special. We did it as a family 🫶 So proud as one of mine was the youngest to compete 💪 all smashed it, with a medal to show at the end. Next one for me is this Sunday for the Manchester great run, the one I’ve been working towards! 🏃‍♀️hoping the heat gives me a break 😂☀️ There is still time to donate towards my run for link is in my bio 💙

Back where I love being 💚

Ready for another week in the gym supporting clients, celebrating wins and keeping everyone moving towards their goals 💪🏼

Every week doesn’t need to be perfect — it just needs progress 👏🏼

Whether your goal is fat loss, building confidence, getting stronger, improving fitness or simply creating healthier habits… remember that the small things matter. The sessions you nearly skipped. The walk you still went on. The meals you planned. The times you chose to keep going.

Those small actions build big results ✨

Here’s to another week of showing up, putting in the work and moving forward 💚

Let’s do this 💪🏼

⬇️ What’s your goal this week?
