Not posted my results for a while since Westwoods, so thought I’d pop up a quick update from the last couple of matches 🎣

Last Saturday I fished the open at Rookery and, to be honest, limped home with 50lb off Jay Lake 😅 (can’t even remember the peg!). Got it wrong for the first couple of hours, then managed a few fish shallow across in the narrower water… but it was very much a “thanks for coming” result 🙈

Yesterday I was back at Rookery Waters for the England Disabled charity fundraiser 💙 Drew peg 43, which has been doing a bit lately. Started shallow again and caught a few, but they were only small stamp fish. Switched it up and had some better carp on luncheon meat long on the deck, then found some proper lumps down the edge 💪 including a lovely 14lb’er 🐟🔥

Ended up with 129lb. Felt like I fished a much better match and was a lot happier with how I approached it 👍 Still not quite enough on the day, with 160lb winning my section and over 200lb winning the lake big well done to the machine that is Ross Harold 👏 Big shout out to Gregg as well with 199lb off Raven for second overall 👌

Overall, felt less rusty and really enjoyed the day 😊 Even managed to win a couple of raffle prizes 🎟️ and, more importantly, over £1000 was raised to support the England Disabled team with their travels 🇬🇧👏

Brilliant day all round and can’t wait to get back out there! 🎣

What a great way to finish the last few days at Wynfest down at Westwoods 🎣

Final day saw me on Peg 48 on Falcon, and it turned into a really enjoyable session. The edges and short lines were just too deep to get anything going, so it was a case of shipping across all day. It worked well, ending on 98lb. With 110lb taking 2nd and 160lb winning, I wasn’t a million miles away — and if I’m honest, with a bit more effort I reckon I could’ve squeezed a few more fish out.

Overall, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag with the draws — two very poor ones and then a good’un to finish — but that’s fishing!

Once again, a brilliant festival in superb company. Big congratulations to all the winners and framers 👏 and a massive thank you to Tony & Sharon for putting on another cracking event.

Already looking forward to the next one!
