"Today, we welcomed Ramsey to Corby Kingswood for a fiercely contested match against a side with an outstanding record — multiple-time champions of Peterborough Division 1 and multiple cup winners.
This was a huge test for us and a valuable opportunity to measure ourselves against top-quality opposition.
From the first whistle, the game was played at a relentless intensity. Both teams battled for every ball, committed fully to every challenge and refused to give an inch.
It was a hard-fought contest from start to finish, with neither side willing to back down.
Half-time: Corby Kingswood 0–0 Ramsey
At half-time, the message was clear: we had 45 minutes to go out and win the game.
The lads responded brilliantly, coming out for the second half with renewed energy, determination and attacking intent. We began creating opportunities and putting Ramsey under pressure, with several chances that could easily have found the back of the net on another day.
We also had a player brought down inside the box, but with no decision given, we stayed focused and continued to fight, Sam showed excellent composure, finding himself in exactly the right place at exactly the right time before calmly slotting the ball home to put Kingswood ahead.

The game became even more intense as Ramsey pushed for a response and we battled desperately to protect our lead. Every challenge mattered, every clearance was crucial and every player gave everything to keep us in front.
Unfortunately, a moment of miscommunication from a Ramsey corner allowed them to find an equaliser.

Despite the setback, we refused to drop our heads. We continued to push forward and created further opportunities, including a couple of excellent one-on-one chances against their goalkeeper.
The winning goal was within reach, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be today.

A draw against a side with Ramsey’s record is a positive result and a clear sign of how far this team has come. We stood toe-to-toe with multiple-time champions, matched their physicality and showed the resilience, character and quality needed to compete at this level.
While we would have loved to take all three points, earning a point from such a fiercely contested match is something the lads can be proud of. The performance was outstanding from start to finish, and we’ll take plenty of confidence into the return fixture away at Ramsey. 💪
