I have a strong dislike for the term part-time. It conjures up thoughts and connotations of ‘less-than’…

Less skilled, less dedicated, less ambitious. And we can often be guilty of adding to that perception by including the word JUST. I ‘just’ work part-time, when their is no 'just' about it.

In fact, there are probably many people in ‘part-time’ roles that are over-skilled due to a lack of opportunities to use their talent and focus their ambition in a way that is accessible to them.

Using the terminology of 'part-time' continues to play into the belief that more hours worked instantly equals more productivity, rather than looking at productivity related to the quality of the output.

'Task-masking ' is the latest headline-grabbing workplace trend... but the root issue is not new.

🔥 It’s 3pm on a hot, frazzled Friday and l have hit my productivity limit.

Anyone else with me!? Although I would have craved an air conditioned office earlier, this is where I really value the balance I have been able to make.

So now I am going to:
✅ Close the laptop
✅ Step into the sun (being thankful for the cloud cover!)
✅ Be happy that what I have done so far today has been enough

I could try and power through on half a heat-stroked brain cell, but that would be counter-productive. Time to rest and refuel.

When women come together, great things happen!

When we big each other up, celebrate our successes, listen to our experiences and knowledge and allow us to be authentic, it's feels magic.

I had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful evening of fabulous women. This was to help showcase the work I do, and to be able to create some beautiful images to bring my to life for all to see. What I didn't expect was the depth of amazing conversation, support shown and laughter had.

Someone talks over you in a meeting. It’s frustrating, but your point wasn’t vital, so you let it go.

Someone mispronounces your name or gets your job title wrong.
You feel the awkwardness, but don’t correct them.

Someone rewrites your work without explanation.
And you think, “Does it really matter?”

Yes: Yes. It does.

Every time we stay silent, we hand over a little piece of our power. Not just in that moment, but in how others see us and in how we start to see ourselves.

Suddenly, a version of you is being built that doesn’t match who you are and you’re not even sure how it happened.

You don’t need to make a scene, you just need to hold your space.
