Force profiling gives you more than just numbers — it shows how an athlete produces force.
In this assessment we’re looking at three key qualities:
• Iso Mid-Thigh Pull (IMTP) – Max force & early force production (how much force you can produce, and how quickly)
• Countermovement Jump (CMJ) – Lower body power & how well you use the eccentric phase
• 10/5 Hop Test – Reactive strength & fast stretch-shortening cycle ability (contact time vs height)
Why this matters:
Two athletes can jump the same height… but one might rely on slow force production, while the other is fast and reactive.
That changes everything when it comes to programming.
➡️ Low max force? Build strength
➡️ Poor early force / impulse? Train intent & explosive work
➡️ Slow contact times? Develop stiffness & fast SSC qualities
