Continuing with Thursday nights antics, G2 finished off where G1 were unable to and brought home a brilliantly deserved win!

Intense interceptions and flawless feeds ensured our girls left the building with a win under their belts

Absolute workhorse Lauren played her bloody socks off, making herself available for every pass. Her game play made her the worthy player of the match title holder

Another duel link up on Thursday night for our squad!

G1 played against Fountain A , but unfortunately fell short of the win despite applying the pressure HARD in the last quarter- a last minute goal saw our winning opportunities disintegrate!

In the words of captain Michelle :

“Genies what a game! Right down to the wire 😜 we pulled back 4-6 goal deficit 3 times to come back to a draw in the dying seconds. They just managed to score that last goal to sn**ch the win. Talk about digging deep and perseverance well done Genies, we didn’t get the win but it was a bloody great game 💜🖤 special shout out to @⁨Charlotte ⁩ on Player of the match. Never gave up, you did not stop running and putting tha pressure up and down the court 💫”

Thursday saw a full squadron link up with both teams playing at the same time on opposing courts!

It seemed to be a night of doubles- 2 teams, 2 wins and even a pair of twins came out of hibernation to support! 😜

Our 2 players of the match didn’t disappoint either, both claiming another week for their notable efforts on court. Massive well done to Georgia Glancey, and Hannah Hope 😍

Both took pride of position in the Genies car

Special mention to G1 for achieving their first 0 goals quarter in….. well I actually don’t know if we have ever done it before! A definite team effort

Commiserations to our G2 side who lost their match last week against Mirfield B

Captain Staci Marie remarked that G2 played a much calmer game, showing development across the team from the previous game

She’s smashing it so she deserves her own post in the “Genies Car” 🤣 🧞‍♀️🚙

Georgia Glancey secured another player of the match award from the umpires, in our game against Hi Tech’s B team. This was solely due to her tenacity on court throughout the game- she never gave up!

For the team as a whole, it was another loss, by 6 goals this time unfortunately, but we remain focused, reflective and ready for the next challenge!
