At FOTM 27 on July 3rd our UKSA Grappling ruleset will make its first appearance.
UKSA Grappling is a competition format that we created from our UK Shootboxing format.
The rules are ultra simple and the sport is a lot of fun for practitioners making it easy to step into.
There are two divisions:
✅ Gi 🥋
✅ No Gi 🤼♂️
Competitors are matched on height, weight, experience and as close to regarding their age.
✅ Matches are for a single round of 3 or 5mins.
✅ Each successful takedown, sweep, throw, trip or slam equals a point.
✅ The competitor with the most points at the end wins.
✅ If a competitor gets a submission in the round the match is finished.
✅ There is no ground fighting permitted.
✅ In the event of a draw with no points. Judges will decide who they think pushed the action the most.
✅ Passivity will not be valued.
✅ There are no grip restrictions as to where to grip or for how long you can grip.
✅ Matches take place in a ring not on mats
This style of competition welcomes people from all styles such as combat karate, ju jitsu, BJJ, Judo, wrestling, Sambo, submission grappling etc
Our events are open to all styles and associations.
Our aim is bring martial artists together regardless of style.
