🇫🇷🎾 Ooh La La… It’s French Open Time at HLTC! 🎾🇫🇷

With the French Open just around the corner, HLTC is getting into the spirit… ooh la la!

On Sunday 17 May, Craig will be hosting a special French Open–themed *ladies* tennis tournament as part of our Sunday Social. If you’d like to take part, be sure to contact Craig (07739 714764) as soon as possible—places are limited, so don’t miss out!

Not playing? No problem at all—there’s plenty going on:

🎾 2 courts available for men’s social tennis during the event
👏 Or come along to cheer on the players and join the mix-in after the tournament

Plus:
🧀 Afternoon cheese
🎟️ Charity raffle with fantastic prizes

Whether you’re playing, spectating, or just here for the cheese (we won’t judge), it’s set to be a brilliant afternoon.

Entry is £5 per player (£2.50 for spectators), with all proceeds going to charity.

Come along for the tennis, stay for the social, and enjoy a little taste of France 🇫🇷🎾

We didn’t let the unpredictable April weather dampen our day! 🌦️🎾

Our Open Day was a huge success, with new and familiar faces mixing both on and off the court. Despite the showers, the club bar proved a popular shelter—great atmosphere, great company, and even better vibes thanks to our DJ keeping the tunes flowing 🎶

A big shoutout to Dave, who was cooking up a storm in the kitchen and keeping everyone well fed 🍔👏

When the afternoon brightened up, we were treated to some superb games, plus a lively match of American padel over on the MUGA court—fantastic to see so many people getting involved!

Well done to all our members who worked tirelessly to make the day happen. It was a fabulous way to kick off the season—whatever the weather! 💪🌟

On Friday we welcomed coaches from Underground training Station (UTS) in Hoylake to the club for a coaching session with Coach Dave. The session focused on the biomechanics of tennis shots, exploring how movement, balance and technique all play a role in hitting more efficient and powerful strokes. We also discussed the health benefits of tennis, from cardiovascular fitness to coordination and mental wellbeing.

Underground Training Station (UTS) is a leading performance and wellness facility based in Hoylake, and also operate UTS Live Well and the UTS Foundation. Their coaches are experts in strength and conditioning and work with athletes and teams across a wide range of sports, helping people improve performance, reduce injury risk and build long-term physical resilience.

Having their team on court was a great opportunity to connect the worlds of tennis technique and athletic conditioning. Strength and conditioning plays a vital role in tennis — improving stability, power and mobility while also helping to prevent injuries and support longevity in the sport and in everyday life.

We wrapped up the session with a friendly tie-break… although “friendly” might be the wrong word — they were a very competitive bunch! Great energy, great learning and a brilliant way to finish the week.

🎾 Sunday Social Tennis 🎾
What a session! Our junior members joined forces with our more experienced members (in age only 😜) for a fantastic afternoon on the courts.
The rallies were incredible — proof that great tennis has no age limit! 🙌
The only thing missing? That blue sky ☁️ — but with the days getting longer, there’s plenty more to look forward to at our Sunday socials!
Whether you’re young or young-at-heart, come join us and get involved. See you on the courts! 🎾❤️

Sunday 1st March from 2pm– Social Mix In, run by Head Coach Craig!
Don’t miss out! This event is open to any adult member of the club – so get involved!
Regrip the racket, put on your best tennis gear, and get down to the club for a fun and exciting social mix in alongside our junior squad. Head Coach Craig will be overseeing the session and keeping a close eye on proceedings – if he cracks a smile, you know you’ve hit a good shot!
We don’t often run social mix ins with our junior squad members, so this is a fantastic opportunity for all adult members to get on court with some of our most exciting up and coming talent. Expect fast-paced, competitive games and a brilliant afternoon of tennis!

Never played tennis? No problem! 🎾✨ Join our friendly Cardio Tennis group every Thursday at 12:30pm. It’s less about perfect technique and more about having fun, getting fit, and meeting great people. £7 per session, all levels welcome. Non members very welcome.
