The Spitfire Scramble will be the only 24-hour off-road running event in London. Runners can enter as pairs, teams of three to five, six to eight or as solo competitors. Tackling the six mile loop of tarmac, trails, tracks and woods, your endurance and teamwork will be put to the test. Hornchurch Country Park now sits on the site of RAF Hornchurch, a key base during the Battle of Britain from whic

h countless Spitfire missions were launched. The course will bear echoes of the park's history as runners pass pill boxes from which war heroes defended their base. This is an opportunity to run in a truly unique place, with views of rolling fields and the London skyline combining to bring you 24 hours of off road action in the shadow of history.
