Good session with Josh today - great to see someone playing the long game with their goals - getting ready for IMUK in 2022 so will have a wicked base to work from.

It is always worth bearing in mind that in long distance triathlon, unless you are aiming to be competitive then comfort beats aero as it is a long old day out there.

Josh initially wanted his road bike set up to be as aero as possible (hence the Tri bars) but after a discussion around his wants and needs we decided that getting balance, power and comfort - plus maximising the ability to run off the bike.

I think we ended up with a great balance, more extension through the knee plus longer reach gave a nice, position which is a little more aero but is also more maintainable but gave an increase in power at the same heart rate 😎😎

This fit was a pleasure

The difference from before to after was literally increasing saddle height, taking one riser out of the bars and coaching around shoulder/head carriage

Richard already had a lot of experience and had got the fit to being comfortable but this is his first foray into Tri/TT bikes so wanted to get it nailed.

There are a few more tweaks that could be done but this is a great start point.

Great session for Jaume today - it’s nice to start in a decent position and just have to tweak.

Jaume was having some hip pain on the left side and felt his left leg was significantly weaker than the right.

We did some work on clear position and added a shim under the left cleat to balance the legs which made a big difference

Then went slightly longer and higher on the stem to open up that mega tight shoulder angle

Sometimes tiny tweaks are all you need

Before vs after for today’s fit....

It is always great to be part of someone’s journey, today’s fit was on a bike that was one week old, owned by a person who had only just started riding.

Some great progress made through a better saddle choice for her, a longer stem to get her more balanced over the bike and definitely a higher saddle to open up the hip angle and generate more power from each pedal stroke.

This fit is currently at the lowest end of the range we would work to saddle height wise but we coached the client through how to adjust it as their confidence in riding improves.

Can’t wait to hear and see the progress 😎😎😎
