U8s - Pre-Season Friendly 🦁

Today our U8s squad played in their final friendly of the pre-season campaign.

It was a really well-contested match with plenty of positives to take away, as well as a few things to work on! ⚽️

The game finished in an unfortunate 4-2 loss, but the boys showed real effort and determination throughout. 🦁💪

Well done today, Lions — proud of every one of you. And well played to everyone who stepped onto the pitch from both sides! 🤝

What an incredible day for Horley Lions at the 2026 David Eager Tournament! ⚽️

Both our U7s and U8s squads left absolutely everything out on the pitch today and did the club and us coaches extremely proud. 👏🦁

🦁 U7s – Fought their way through to the semi-finals before being knocked out, right after sealing their quarter-final win in a tense penalty shootout.

🦁 U8s – Reached the final! They booked their semi-final spot, won that one on penalties too, and only just came up short in the final.

A massive thank you to John Eager for hosting a fantastic event, in which many young lads left with big smiles on their faces! 💪🏻🦁

Also, huge credit to all of our wonderful parents who came out today! Let’s keep making wonderful memories for our Lions! 🦁
