Horden CW VS Chester Le Street U9 Pinks

A Bright and early start for the boys this morning and straight into probably our hardest game yet as a team. We came up against a brilliant and well organised side but the boys were determined and played their hearts out to grasp the win!

Coaches notes:

A rough and aggressive game today against a very good team, we had some of our weaknesses exposed and exploited but we showed some real heart and character to pull the game back and to go on to win it

Going forward we’re going to be working on our movement in offensive and defensive moments. Finding space to exploit and exploring more ways to win

Pre Season Tournament hosted by Coxhoe United - 30/08/26

Our first tournament as U9s and what a whirlwind of a day it was. It took us a few games to warm up and we came 3rd in the group stage but after that we really turned it on!

Into the semis and the boys were back in the tournament with a bang. It was like a switch had been flipped and they powered through to the final.

We were up against a strong side in the final and what a game it was. The difference between our first and final game was HUGE and the battled hard to WIN THE TOURNAMENT!!!

Well done boys! You all made us so proud and can’t wait to see what the league brings next week!!

Coaches notes:

Well the tournament curse is gone.

Going into this tournament I was wary about how long we’d gone without a game and it was evident in some of our early games that there was some rust.

By the semi final and the final, the lads turned it on and played their game of football instead of letting the other team dictate, we outworked and outfought the other teams and earned a well deserved tournament win.

Well done boys!
