⚽️ HORDEN CW U12s – SEASON REVIEW ⚽️
As the curtains close on our season in Division 2, it is time to look back on what has been an incredible journey of growth, hard work, and fantastic football from this group of players.
We started the season absolutely flying, playing some brilliant football and rightly cementing ourselves right among the league leaders early on. As the winter months rolled in, we hit a few bumps in the road, dropping points in a couple of games we really should have been better in and coming out on the wrong side of some incredibly scrappy, physical battles.
But what defines this team is how they bounce back. Later in the season, the lads found their rhythm again, putting together a fantastic run of form. While we ultimately fell just short of our automatic promotion goal, finishing a highly respectable 4th in a very competitive division is a good achievement that everyone should be proud of. A coupe of what if games, but that’s football.
More importantly than the league table, this has been a standout season for development. The improvement in the kids' attitude, both at training and on match days, has been brilliant to watch. They are learning what it takes to compete, to work hard and understand new positions and we are really starting to see who has that drive, hunger, and attitude to progress even further in the game.
We’ve seen a few kids join us this year and really stand out in the team, Billy our goalkeeper has had a good first season and right character in the group, Fraiser a real Rolls Royce of a defender who combines physical defending with calm ball carrying and passing, and Rome, a commanding midfielder/defender with an eye for a pass, silky skills and a rocket of a shot. All have settled seamlessly into the team and made us stronger.

Our clinical attack was firing all season, led by Oliver hitting the back of the net 19 times to finish top scorer, Jonah racking up an incredible 27 goal contributions including 15 goals and Maxwell hitting double figures with 12 goals!

As we look ahead to another season of progression ahead, we’ll be driving standards in training and games to give these kids the best opportunity to progress in football. Next season will see us play our final season at 9 a side before the jump to 11 a side. I’m excited to see where the next year of football takes this team 🔴 ⚫️
