🏏 Carmel & District CC 2nd XI Match Report 🏏

A fantastic all-round performance saw Carmel & District CC 2nd XI secure a commanding 50-run victory over Pwllheli CC 2nd XI. Carmel posted 153 all out, before the bowlers produced a disciplined display to dismiss Pwllheli for 103.

🏏 Match Result | Carmel CC 1st XI 🏏

A fantastic all-round performance saw Carmel CC secure a convincing victory over Corwen CC and move into the top two for the first time this season.

After losing the toss, Corwen elected to bowl first. Carmel started steadily, looking to build a solid platform before Sim departed. From there, Supz and Manee produced a superb partnership, rotating the strike well and keeping the scoreboard ticking throughout the middle overs. Despite a small blip during the final 10 overs, Carmel still posted an above-par total of 210/6 from 40 overs.

Maneesha Nissanka led the way with an outstanding unbeaten 87*, while S. Eranga provided excellent support with 66.

In reply, Corwen got off to a strong start, but Carmel remained patient and disciplined, picking up key wickets and steadily slowing the run rate. Superb spells from Aled Proffitt (3/21) and AJ in the middle overs put Carmel firmly in the driving seat before Syam (3/17) cleaned up the tail to seal the win.

Corwen CC 140 all out (37.2 overs)

🏆 Player of the Match: Maneesha Nissanka (87*)

This result sees Carmel climb into 2nd place in the league standings.

Next up is a huge challenge as we host league leaders Marchwiel & Wrexham CC in a top-of-the-table clash.

🏏👏 Congratulations to Jagath Magulagama on making his debut for the North Wales Over 50s XI against Staffordshire Over 50s!

This call-up is thoroughly deserved following a fantastic start to the season, leading the Carmel CC attack with 11 wickets at an outstanding average of just 10.45.

Making his North Wales debut, Jags delivered another disciplined performance with the ball, bowling 9 excellent overs and finishing with figures of 1 for 26.

Everyone at Carmel Cricket Club is incredibly proud of Jags on this achievement. His commitment, dedication, and performances on the field have earned this opportunity.

A great cricketer, an even better person.

A mixed weekend for the club with the 1st XI securing a dominant victory, while the 2nd XI battled hard in two tough fixtures.

🏏 Help Us Spruce Up Our Home! 🏏

Our pavilion has seen us through countless wickets, sunny afternoons, and post-match teas, but it’s starting to look a little tired and is in need of some well-deserved TLC. We want to make it a truly welcoming space that our community can be proud of!

Why are we crowdfunding?

With a new mower to fund this season, club reserves are stretched. However, we don't want that to stop us from growing. First impressions count, and we want to provide a warm, inviting environment for our brilliant members, potential newcomers, and visiting teams alike.

Where will the money go?

Indoor Comfort: Replacing or refurbishing our well-loved sofas, tables, and chairs.

Outdoor Space: Moving the boundary fence forward to create a fantastic, spacious area for new picnic benches (replacing our slightly outdated park benches!).

Our goal is a fresh, clean look inside and out for 2026, making the club a vibrant hub for everyone.
