What a day for the U8s, with both teams putting in fantastic performances throughout the tournament.
The Blues and Whites met in the semi-final and couldn't be separated, drawing 1-1 before the Blues went out in a tense penalty shootout, sending the Whites through to the final where they beat Valley to lift the trophy.
The Blues' passing was brilliant and their movement into space was excellent throughout. They worked tirelessly to win the ball back, drove forward well down the wings, and took their chances when they came. Losing only one game in the entire group stage was a great return.
The Whites were equally impressive, with some superb saves, brilliant defending and great football played at the back. The midfield ran the show all tournament, and the finishing across the side was excellent, with some amazing goals scored.
Jake, who played for the Blues, was named Player of the Tournament, a well-deserved reward for his efforts.
Two fantastic teams, but as a whole the U8s won as one. A brilliant effort from every single one of the team.
