This journey has been very different to Scarlett’s past. Trying to bring on a baby up the levels has proven hard. There’s been lots of low points and she’s felt it’s been 1 stride forward and 10 back, She lost the love of competing and hasn’t really bonded like she’d hoped. At times I thought she was just going to pack it all in and give up something she’s loved doing since she was 3, sitting on a pony and smiling is all she’s known. She’s had lessons, training, arena hires, worked at home but none of that matters if you’ve lost confidence and are battling with your mind set.
I’ve kept pushing her to stick with it, we’ve looked at other ponies that have been there and done just so she can have fun in her last few years of ponies but money is the object in this game and if you don’t have it spare the only option you have is to fight with what you have got or give up and what a shame that would be.
This round today was only unaffiliated but it showed some positivity and brought a smile to her face. A double clear would have been fine but she wanted more, she needed more so she gave it her all and took the win, (got left behind at last fence but we don’t care.) We can see the work has worked and hopefully will give her the confidence and positive mind she deserves. ❤️
