Histon Hornets Inclusive is a football community that provides playing and training opportunities for adults and children who qualify to play inclusion football due to a physical, neurological, mental health, special educational needs (SEN) or wellbeing need in a safe and inclusive environment. We are a friendly and welcoming group who passionately believe football is for all and empowering and su
pporting each other. We have an adult (16+) disability team with 16 players that trains once a week and plays in 3 leagues across 3 different counties during the season in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Northamptonshire. During the 2023-24 season we played 88 league matches and a total of 131 games, winning 3 trophies, including 2 league titles. We also play friendly matches and compete against other disability teams in in summer tournaments and friendlies. In May 2024, we launched junior inclusion sessions every week for ages 7-11 and 12-16, and for the 2024-25 season we entered an Under 12s team into the inaugural PDFL Disability League. Our teams are generously supported by Histon Hornets FC (histonhornets.co.uk) and our sponsors The Ship (theshipcambridge.co.uk) PEM (pem.co.uk) and Neurobox (neurobox.co.uk). Our teams are managed by Zoe Harvey, the only visually impaired female coach in the country, and training sessions are led by her and John Harvey, who is also a fully qualified FA coach for grassroots football. You can get in touch with us by messaging this page or contacting Zoe by email - [email protected]. The team originally started in April 2022 as Cambridge United Pan-Disability team, playing 83 matches with 27 players involved, before forming as Histon Hornets Inclusive on 1 June 2023.
