Today we welcome Sporting Wallsend to QEHS for what promises to be a tough test against the current league leaders.

After last weekend’s narrow 4-3 defeat, it’s vital the lads stick together, stay positive, and take confidence from a performance that showed we can more than compete with the higher teams in this league. There were plenty of positives to build on, and today is another chance to prove that. 💚🤍

The squad know the challenge ahead, but it’s a chance to dig deep, show character, and fight for a big result as we look to pick up some vital points at the bottom end of the table. Every point matters now, and the lads will be giving everything from first whistle to last.

FULL TIME: Hexham 3-4 Bedlington

A frustrating afternoon after a strong start saw the lads fall short despite being in control for large parts of the game.

The match began evenly, with both sides creating chances early on. Around the 20-minute mark, a defensive error allowed Fionn Struthers to break the deadlock, smashing the ball into the top left corner from inside the box.

Not long after, Hexham doubled their lead. Jake Robson showed great composure to beat the keeper before squaring it to Luke Robinson-Crowe, who calmly slotted home into the bottom corner.

Half Time: Hexham 2-0 Bedlington

The second half couldn’t have started better. Will Emery played a brilliant ball over the top to George Brady, who beat his man and delivered a dangerous cross for Jake Robson to head home and make it three.

At 3-0 up, the lads looked in full control — but the game quickly turned. Bedlington responded with four quick goals, swinging the momentum completely and leaving Hexham stunned.

There was late controversy as Jake Robson’s effort looked destined for goal, only for a defender to dive on the line and block it — with strong shouts for a handball waved away by the referee.

A tough one to take after such a dominant start, but plenty to build on moving forward.

Match Report – Hexham vs Morpeth

A disappointing afternoon at home saw Hexham fall to a 4–1 defeat against Morpeth.

The visitors took the lead following a defensive mix up, as the ball bobbled under pressure allowing the Morpeth winger to take advantage and slot the ball into the far corner.

In the second half Hexham showed some fight and looked to get back into the game, however this was short lived when Morpeth worked the ball into the box, their attacker turning inside the six yard box, beating another defender before firing into the roof of the net to make it two.

Their third came shortly after from a through ball, with the striker rounding the keeper and finishing calmly.

At 3–0 down the lads tried to respond to a difficult situation, and George Brady pulled one back after the ball fortunately landed to him in the box, where he struck a low shot into the bottom corner. However, Morpeth were awarded a penalty not long after and converted into the corner to make it 4–1.

A tough result, but we regroup and look to bounce back next week.

MATCH DAY

Back at Wentworth this afternoon as Hexham take on Morpeth in Northern Alliance Division 1.

After a great 2-1 win over Willington Quay last weekend, the lads will be looking to build on that result and finish the season strongly. Today’s visitors are a young Morpeth side who, fair to say, had the better of us in the last meeting, so the squad will be hungry for a reaction and ready to put things right on home soil.

Let’s hope for another strong performance and three points in front of the home support.
