Sometimes life is tough…

For me, now is one of those times!

Juggling God knows how many balls, trying to stay sane and trying to be kind to myself.

I can hear you nodding along!

The one thing that is helping… is making a commitment to a few non negotiables… water, walking, and eating well.

The reason I can stick to those things now is because of the work I’ve put in over the years.

The little habits that I’ve worked at consistently.

And the promises I’ve made to myself and kept.

It’s easy to think those things only matter when life is ticking along nicely, but they’re actually the things that become second nature when everything else feels a lot.

Am I doing everything perfectly right now?

Not even close!

Right now, I’m just focusing on what I ‘can’ do.

Small things, maybe.

But they help me feel a little more like me.

And some days, that’s more than enough.

If you’re finding life tough right now, write down 2 or 3 small habits that you are able to commit to.

Stick to them, and for now don’t worry about the rest ###

Complete honesty… and maybe a little TMI 😂

BUT I DO really struggle with digestion issues, so any tips on how to keep me regular and I’m all ears! Lol 😂

So I am super grateful for and her advise!

One thing that makes a huge difference? Getting enough fibre in your diet.

The general recommendation is around 25–30g of fibre per day…

But please don’t hear that and suddenly decide to triple your fibre intake overnight, because your digestive system will definitely have some thoughts about that… 😬🤣

If you’re currently eating quite a low fibre diet, increase it gradually and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water too.

Think small swaps like adding fruit, veg, oats, beans, lentils or wholegrains into your meals.

Your gut (and your toilet schedule 💩) will thank you for it 😉

Menopause… the latest marketing goldmine?

A friend sent me this picture the other day and it made me feel really cross!

At what point did normal products suddenly need a menopause label attached to them?

Yes, menopause can bring changes to our skin.

Dryness, sensitivity, itching and irritation can be common.

But what concerns me is how often women are being told they need an entirely new collection of products the moment they reach a certain age.

And funnily enough a lot of these products are ‘researched’ and ‘marketed’ by the pharmaceutical companies themselves 🤔

It’s no coincidence that many of these products come with a higher price tag for the privilege is it!

I sought advice from beauty and skincare specialist Remi budd (see second slide)

I’m not saying all menopause specific products are bad.

Some may be genuinely helpful.

But it’s worth asking:

🌟Is this product actually different?
🌟Is there evidence behind the claims?
🌟Or is the word menopause being used to make you ‘feel like you need to’ buy something else?

Your bank account will likely thank you for it 😉
