My Scales Have Spiked!!!
With the heat turning up a little this week here, you might notice the scale doing some weird things lately - just like mine did this morning with a 1kg jump!
I have had a few messages today about this from the ladies I coach so thought I would make a post incase anyone else is resonating with this right now.
I know I mentioned it a few weeks back but incase we needed that little reminder like I did, here’s the truth:
It’s not fat gain… It’s the heat.
🔥 In hot weather, your body holds more water to help regulate temperature, protect vital organs, and balance hydration. That extra water can easily add 1–3 kg (2–7 lbs) temporarily.
💦 You also sweat more, which shifts your sodium and fluid balance. When that balance changes, your body might store even more water than usual to compensate.
So if the scale’s up - it’s likely nothing to do with fat gain. It’s just your body adapting to the heat.
Keep going. Trust the process.
Hydrate well, keep ticking the boxes, and focus on the process over the progress.
The number will settle once the weather does.
