Herbrandston Cricket Club were recently fortunate enough to be awarded £5000 from South Hook LNG Community Fund (Tier 2) towards our Safe Training Facilities project.

This has allowed us to purchase equipment which will benefit both our junior and senior teams.

Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to PAVS and South Hook LNG for supporting our club.

Thank you to Mariam and Adrian of South Hook LNG for visiting recently.

ZERO RUNS.

Someone check if he’s got feathers, because this bro is definitely a duck. 🦆

The bat’s clearly just there for decoration, because every time he walks to the crease, his innings lasts as long as a one pump chump (oi oi Charlie)

So congrats Deano, for achieving the magnificent feat of three consecutive ducks

Couldn’t score a run, couldn’t find the middle, but somehow managed to drop a turd in a plastic tub. Yes you heard that right, the bloke curled one up in tub!!! We will spare you all the photographic evidence, but let’s just say his gut had a better strike rate than his bat

At least the tub finally got something he’s been unable to give the scoreboard all season………………a solid performance.

Couldn’t produce runs, so he produced a turd instead. He came, he saw, he shat.

Not all heroes wear capes. Apparently some s**t in plastic tubs.

Our last D*ck of the Day goes to Deano, who is now known as The Pavilion Plopper.

So cheers to ducks, dumps and f*cking up perfectly good plastic tubs. 🦆💩

Match Day 18 🏏🏏🏏

For the second team’s final game they made the long trek to Llechryd. So the fun bus was loaded up and off they set.

Winning the toss we elected to bat first. After a steady start with John Camani and Marc Evans both reaching double figures it was Karl Davies and Dillon Lewis who really accelerated the scoreboard. With a late cameo from Bowlesy we finished on 152 for 8. Dillon top scored with 42, Karl with 37 and Bowlesy 19 not out.

A decent total on the board, but we knew that our bowlers were going to have to be at it in order to win the game. We managed to pick up some early wickets but couldn’t shift the opening bat. Could we find a game changer?? Step up Marc Evans, who with 3 wickets in 2 overs changed the game in our favour. It was the impact we needed and eventually bowled the home side out for 136. Marc and Aaqib both taking 3 wickets each, Bowlesy 2, Rhys 1 and a run out completed the wickets.

A tremendous game to finish off a very good season for the second team. A good mixture of youth and experience saw us finish 6th in our first season back in division 4. Well done to skipper Minky and vice captain Jonny.

Match Day 18 🏏🏏🏏

So the final game of the season was upon us as we entertained last seasons champions, Carew.

Bowling first against a reversed line up, we were able to take early wickets. Some accurate bowling and some top catching continued the trend. The momentum was with our bowlers and we were able to bowl the visitors all out for a total of 125 runs. Hoody and Charlie sharing 4 wickets apiece and Nathan Banner chipping in and taking the last 2 wickets.

After an excellent final spread for teas our batsmen took the field for the run chase. The teas must’ve been good as the top order didn’t hang round for long as none of the top 5 could reach double figures. Only when Kristan Bennett and skipper Robbie Hood arrived at the crease did the scoreboard start rising. But even the GOAT, with some big hitting, couldn’t get us over the line and our innings came to a close on 99. Benno top scoring with 36 and Hoody 16.

A disappointing end to what has been a terrific season. Reaching the Duggie Morris final and finishing 3rd in the league is a terrific achievement. A big well done to skipper Robbie Hood and his band of merry cricketers!!
