RACE REPORT KNOCKHILL.

The first weekend of the Scottish championship took us up to knockhill, as hard as it is to accept , following the big off at Snetterton and limited running at the East fortune test, the aim of the weekend was definitely to stay shiny side up.

In the weeks between the test and knockhill I decided to do a full strip and rebuild of the bike, swapping out almost everything apart from the engine. I can't thank gav enough for the help getting it ready. Anyway, on to the weekend..........

QUALIFYING. Full wet running in qualifying mixed with me being under confident and over cautious resulted in a grid position that meant the only way was forward 😂. Once again though the wets were spot on, especially on a very greasy surface.

Race 1. 23 riders lined up in the pre Injection grid, the first couple of laps were lively, with a few incidents. I managed to stay out of trouble though with some good close racing, finishing 18th. Slight improvement but still miles off where I ended last year.

Race 2. Dry but mega windy, Starting 18th, a good getaway meant gaining a couple of places off the line. The wind was playing havoc going down Duffus especially so happy to get into the 1.02s this race. Final position 16th..

Race 3. The weather turned up in true knockhill style for this one with rain due just as we were scheduled on track. I made the decision early to lock in the wet on the front but left the back wheel off until the last minute. In the end we went for a slick on the rear which turned out to be the right decision on a rapidly drying track. End result being a much better 13th.

Race 4, the heavens opened within 2 laps which brought out a red flag, back to the pits and a quick ten minute turnaround to get onto wets meant a few riders never made the restart. Massive shout out to my brother Lewis for getting it done and ready to get back out there. It's very much appreciated. Sensing a quiet track round about me, it really showed how cautious I was being, bringing the bike home safe in 16th.

Time to get ready for Donnington next week and the next round of the inter services race with no limits racing and Royal Navy Road Race Team . Also keep an eye out on the socials for some potentially big news over the coming weeks.

Thanks again to everyone for their support.

So what a start to the season. Apologies for the delay, as you can imagine when you read this, it has been hectic.
I had the openening round of the no limits season at Snetterton a fortnight ago. Saturday felt good, qualifying 4th in class. I had a wee low side in the race though which knocked the flow a bit. Sunday was spent just trying to get seat time and build confidence, times weren't the best but the track time was good, that was until the last lap, when another rider ran into me. As you can see from the video and pictures the bike took a dull one.
A week of turning spare parts into a complete bike rebuild though got me out at east fortune for testing last week. Apart from a couple of teething problems which were to be expected and torrential rain, it was good to give the bike a shake down.

Anyway we are almost ready for knockhill next week. Just a bit of cosmetic work to finish. Remember it's free entry with mod90 or blue light card if anyone fancies it. Hopefully the time between future rounds allow for better updates.

Thanks to everyone as always

Liam

Whilst we are deep in the depth of close season, I appreciate updates are a bit slow. Prep is well underway and whilst we are keeping details of big changes next year under wraps for a bit longer, here is a picture of my newly arrived boots. You may or may not notice that these would not fit in with the old colour scheme........... 🤔

END OF SEASON 2025

Apologies for the delay, that proved a hectic end to the season. and for the long post going to cover the last few meetings.

EAST FORTUNE CELTIC RACES 20/09
The final meeting at East Fortune saw both bikes back on track for the first time since Hendo #10 crash at Knockhill. Still nursing his injuries, the weekend was about track time and getting the bike round. A solid weekend with minimal issues ensured he achieved that, with some good battles with both reguklars and some visiting racers along the way.
On the other side of the awning Liam #62, sporting a new paint job looked to continue to build on his times on what would be his final weekend wearing the orange novice bib. Qualifying 18th pitched an unlikely battle between Navy and visiting RAF rider Jordan Harkins. This would be a duel which lasted the weekend and much fun was had. Unfortunately in the first race Hannah's decided to bite again, losing the bike when going well resulting in a DNF. fortunately, there was minimal damage and the bike was ready to face the rest of the weekend. Saturday night brought an un expected knock on the van door. Due to mechanical issues, Team Ireland needed a stand in for the Celtic Race on the Sunday. Extra track time is never to be sniffed at, especially with so many fast riders in the field , and a solid performance saw #62 gain some points for the team.

DONNINGTON PARK 27/09
This weekend saw us race under the Royal Navy Motorsport banner for the first time officially. Unfortunately Hendo #10 injuries from knockhill rules him out of the trip so it was only bike #62 that was involved along with Gav providing pit crew support. for anyone wanting a race report please see the shared post from the team. Representing the Navy at the the No Limits racing series is a massive opportunity and one we will be partaking in next season.

KNOCKHILL 04/10
The final meeting of the season was dominated by the first named storm of the year, which caused havoc in the paddock on the friday night. once the weekend got going both bikes were on track and going well. Again the aim of the weekend was to keep improving and keep the shiny side up which we achieved. Unfortunately , brake issues, in changeable conditions meant #10 missed the last race. #62 posted a PB time of 58.0s which meant he was in amongst some quick riders, Hopefully this is a sign of where we sit next year.

We would like to extend our thanks to all the people who have supported us through the first season, whether it be sponsors supplying us with gear, photographers who give up their time and supply us with action shots, everyone who supports us and stops by for a chat, but especially our pit crew, Not only do they help us get the bikes out but they also put up with our various crashes and mini tantrums. This year has been epic and going by the preps made for next year it is worth keeping an eye out, We will be dropping some content over the winter of progress which is already well under way. If anyone out there thinks that working with us would provide some benefit, please give us a shout and we can see what we can do :)
