Hebden Royd Walking Football Club
We are a group of aging men with a passion for football. So much so, we’re still playing well into our 50s and 60s, only we’ve slowed down a little now and play the walking version of the beautiful game.
We run a practice session on a Monday evening from 6pm to 7pm at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, where the focus is on good spirit, good fun and good football.
We also have a competitive Over 50s squad within the group, that plays in the Northern Premier League. This is a six aside tournament based in Leeds and played over a few Sundays between May and August.
If this sounds like fun, then please give us a shout, as we currently have room for a few more players. Hands up, if you’re just an enthusiastic beginner, then we’re probably not the group for you. We’ve all played football before and a novice would find it challenging. There are alternative groups available in the valley that cater for beginners.
However, if you have some football experience, even it was a long time ago, and fancy lacing up your boots again (well, indoor trainers) then please get in touch, as you’d likely love our sessions.
Walking football offers many health and wellbeing benefits, and being part of a team again really does turn the clock back.
