Oxford Isis Korfball Club Oxford Isis Korfball Club was set up in 2007. Korfball is a mixed gender team sport with similarities to netball, basketball and handball, but very different.

It has been a summer of tournaments for Oxford Isis and last weekend we were super excited to join the tournament with TWO(?!) teams. It was a wonderful day and we were so pleased to have three new players join us for their first tournament, with Daniel scoring his first goal. It's been a summer of recruitment with welcoming many new faces. Bring on our last tournament of the summer 🌞

Ahead of our summer tournament participation kicking off this Saturday we're taking the chance to look back on our last games of the 2025/26 season.

Our two final matches saw plenty of goals, huge team performances, and lots to be proud of 👏

Our 2nds put in an incredibly encouraging performance against Abingdon 3, showing brilliant teamwork, tight defence, and some really well-worked attacks in the second half. Despite the result, the squad finished strong and hit one of their highest goal totals of the season 🔥

Opposition MVP went to Joe who scored some unreal long-range goals and coach MVP went to Anna for a fantastic all-round performance.

Meanwhile, our 1st team finished their season in style with a fab display against Didcot 💪 The team showed resilience, energy, and real collective strength across the court, with an especially dominant second half.

Opposition MVP went to Dan F for an impressive hat trick and coach MVP went to John for key first-half goals and a strong defence.

A massive thank you to everyone who played, coached, supported, scored, defended, cheered, umpired, and helped throughout the season 💚 We’ve learned so much, grown as teams, and we’re already excited for summer tournaments and next season!

So it's been a while since our last post 🫣, sorry it's what happens when our publicity officer gets married and jets off on a lovely sunny honeymoon!!

But we're back and before we start posting some match scores and recaps (lots of first goals for our new players 🥳) we just wanted to reintroduce ourselves 👋

We're Oxford Isis Korfball, a friendly and inclusive club that plays korfball in the Oxfordshire league on Sundays. We have a wide range of players in our club, from new people giving korfball a go to people that have been playing for decades.

We train on Monday evenings in Headington at Headington Rye Prep from 6.30 to 8.30 and love to welcome new faces to join us to try out korfball as we think it's awesome!

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for us, with tight battles, big performances, and plenty of moments to be proud of 🙌

Isis 1 fought hard in closely contested clashes with Abingdon 2 and Didcot 1, creating chance after chance and showing just how dangerous we can be going forward. Fine margins, big lessons.

Isis 2 took on some tough opposition and never backed down, staying competitive, defending with grit, and attacking with confidence. A special shoutout to some HUGE individual performances (you know who you are 👀✨).

From rock-solid defensive efforts and relentless work rate, to standout goal-scoring displays and first league goals (we see you Emily!), the progress across both squads has been clear to see.

Results didn’t always go our way, but the energy, teamwork, and improvement absolutely did and that’s what we’ll keep building on.

Looking for something to kickstart your January fitness routine? Whether you're looking to try something new or expand your current programme, korfball could be the perfect answer!

Korfball is a mixed-gender, fast-paced, team sport, similar to basketball and netball. We are a super friendly and inclusive team, with a mix of experience levels, from new players to those that have been playing for years.

Our training sessions are Mondays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Headington Rye Prep and have some fun, hands on FREE taster sessions running from 5th January. This is a great way to learn a new sport in a friendly and supportive environment.

Did someone say Korfmas?

A big thank you to our wonderful social sec Anna (supported by Matt) for organising our wonderful club Christmas do at the end of last month, which consisted of a yummy meal and festive quiz. As a club we love to not only play korf together but also enjoy team socials!

Next up our Isis 1 match against Oxford City 4 on 30th November!

This match saw Isis 1 taking on a challenging City 4 team, and we were proud to see the huge heart, calm passing, and lots of grit everyone showed 💪🖤💚

City brought the pressure with tight marking and relentless front defence, but Isis refused to let their confidence slip. We even nailed two penalties — always satisfying to see training-ground work paying off! 🙌

Congratulations to opposition MVP Joe and coach MVP Kahlio.

A difficult game but the effort, teamwork, and determination stayed at 100% from the first whistle to the last. We're proud of the squad for digging deep and keeping spirits high! 💚🖤

It's been a while since our last post 🫣, so get ready for some back to back match reports from our last few weeks of action!!

We start with our Isis 2 v Oxford University 2 match on Sunday 23 Nov which saw us get an amazing 9-9 draw, despite being one boy down 💪

The team delivered an absolute thriller against a strong Oxford Uni side! Everyone came out firing with huge defensive pressure and confident attacking play.

Congrats to opposition MVP Joe and coach MVP Bridget

Our Isis 1 faced a tough matchup against a tricky Didcot squad, which ended with a 25-11 loss.

But there’s so much to celebrate:
✨ Double-digit scoring!
✨ Awesome teamwork and positivity throughout.
✨ Dan F. leading from the front with five strong goals.
