On Sunday 10th May, Sandgate U14 Girls were invited to an incredible invitational tournament at Hanwell Town F.C. — and what a day it turned out to be! ❤️🤍🔥
The girls started in fantastic fashion, winning our opening game 2–0, before going on to win ALL FOUR group matches without conceding a single goal! 🧤🚫⚽
Into the semi-final we marched, where we faced a superbly organised Whetstone Wanderers side. After a tense battle and a string of heroic saves from Erin 🙌, the match went to penalties!

With the shootout tied at 2–2, Erin stepped up once again with an unbelievable diving save that flew over the stand and into the car park! 😱🚗💨
Then came Florence… calmly volunteering to take the third penalty before coolly slotting it into the corner to send us into the FINAL! 💥👏
The final itself was a special moment, with both teams walking out through the tunnel to applause from a huge crowd of spectators — an experience the girls (and coaches!) will never forget 🤍❤️🙌
A tense and entertaining final was decided by a single goal against a very strong St Joseph’s side, but not before Teagen almost produced the goal of the tournament with an unbelievable strike from inside our own half that crashed against the crossbar! 😮🔥
Every single one of the girls played their hearts out from the first whistle to the last ❤️🤍⚽
An amazing day, incredible memories, and another hugely successful tournament for the Sandgate U14 family! 👏🏆
