After nearly 20 years of running LTA - Tennis For Britain tournaments at Haverhill Lawn Tennis Club we finished on a lovely 12u boys event. Patrick Stosik beat Oskar Pieczonka 4-0, 4-1, but it was Oskar's reaction at the end of the match which has inspired us to continue with events for so long. He congratulated Patrick on his win and hoped to play him again this summer - priceless. Haverhill's player Hugo Booth did really well in his first 12u event finishing in third place after knocking out the number one seed in the first round. Thank you to all the boys and parents on a fantastic event to finish on.

I've had the real pleasure of working with my good friend Ainsley Culbert since we met at a Referee's conference just before Covid kicked off. She has run the events for a few years now and is a true proffesional, keeping parents informed of the days events and answering so many emails! Thank you Ainsley and I'm looking forward to our game of Padel Tennis. xx

We held our first County Tour Tournament at the weekend. The players and parents were a really lovely group and the tennis was of a very good standard. Congratulations go to Beau Robinson for beating Elliot Heinonen in a closely fought final. Our next event is on June 15th and is a 12u Event. It would be lovely to get the girls event going! The wonderfully talented Sharon Mattheus and her youthful partner (that's me!) won the annual Mike Beddows Cup at Haverhill Golf Club Ltd last week. The trophy was presented by Mike's daughter Julie Harper. Considering I was last in the event the week before , it was a good win!
